We specialize in offering tailored aircraft modifications and repairs across a wide range of disciplines, including Structural, Electrical, Avionics, ECS, Cabin Safety, including Flight Conditions/Permit to Fly.\nWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Design Organisation. The successful candidate will support the development, substantiation, certification and release of mechanical design solutions for aircraft modifications, repairs and certification projects. Working within the company’s approved Design Organisation procedures, you will contribute to delivering safe, practical and compliant engineering solutions in accordance with applicable EASA Part 21 and airworthiness requirements.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare mechanical design data for aircraft modifications, repairs and installations.\nProduce and review engineering, installation, assembly and interface drawings, together with parts lists.\nDevelop design solutions for aircraft structures, interiors, equipment installations, brackets, panels, fairings and other mechanical installations.\nSupport mechanical installation, equipment mounting, structural interface and cabin interior design activities.\nPrepare or contribute to design reports, substantiation reports, stress reports, test plans and certification documentation.\nSupport compliance demonstration against applicable certification requirements, including CS-23 and CS-25 where relevant.\nReview aircraft manuals, drawings, specifications, service bulletins and technical records.\nSupport aircraft surveys, embodiment activities, conformity inspections and ground/flight testing where required.\nWork closely with Compliance Verification Engineers, suppliers, customers, maintenance organisations and regulatory authorities.\nIdentify and communicate technical, certification and compliance risks at an early stage.\nEnsure all engineering records and design data are accurate, controlled and produced in accordance with DOA procedures.\nAbout You\nYou will ideally have:\nA degree, apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aircraft Engineering or a related technical discipline.\nPrevious mechanical design experience within aviation, aerospace, defence, automotive or another regulated engineering environment.\nStrong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, fasteners, structures, installations and manufacturing methods.\nExperience producing engineering drawings and technical design documentation.\nExperience with CAD software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or equivalent.\nThe ability to interpret aircraft manuals, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.\nStrong attention to detail with a practical, solution-focused approach.\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.\nDesirable Experience\nPrevious experience within an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation would be highly advantageous, together with knowledge or experience of:\nEASA Part 21 Subpart J\nCS-23 and/or CS-25\nAircraft modifications, repairs, STCs and major/minor changes\nAircraft interiors, avionics installations, mission equipment or structural repairs\nEquipment mounting, bracket and structural interface design\nFlammability, vibration, fatigue and structural substantiation requirements\nAircraft surveys, embodiment, conformity inspections
