We have offices in Atlanta GA, Charlotte NC, Columbus OH, Jackson MI, or Orlando FL\nThe Project Engineer will in two capacities; externally as Owners Engineer overseeing large projects for customers, as well as internally overseeing a team executing projects. They will be responsible for overall coordination between internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.\nResponsibilities:\nProject Leadership: Lead and manage large projects from inception to completion, ensuring all project goals are achieved.\nOwner’s Engineer Role: Represent the client’s interests, ensuring compliance with all project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.\nTeam Oversight: Supervise and coordinate internal project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.\nDesign and Construction Management: Oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of power delivery infrastructure.\nStakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, facilitating clear and effective communication.\nSite Visits: Conduct site visits as needed to monitor project progress, address issues, and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.\nBudget and Schedule Management: Work closely with a Project Manager to develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.\nInterdepartmental Coordination: Coordinate design and engineering activities across various departments (e.g., Civil/Structural, Physical/Electrical, Systems Studies, Power Generation, P&C, etc.).\nQuality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure all project deliverables meet the required standards and specifications.\nRisk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth project execution.\nMentorship and Supervision\nWork independently and provide direction to less-experienced Engineers-in-Training (EITs) and Designers\nMentor, train, and supervise junior team members\nQualifications:\nEducation:\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural Engineering or Construction Management from an ABET-accredited program. \nProfessional Credentials:\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license, Preferred\nExperience:\n6+ years of multi-disciplinary design experience in substations. \nTechnical Skills:\nProficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design software.\nFamiliarity with power system analysis tools such as ETAP, SKM, or similar - Preferred\nKnowledge of SCADA systems and their integration with substation equipment - Preferred\nFamiliarity with protective relay coordination and settings - Preferred\nUnderstanding of grounding and lightning protection systems.\nExperience with high voltage (HV) and extra-high voltage (EHV) substation design.\nKnowledge of renewable energy integration and grid interconnection standards.\nProficiency in using project management software such as MS Project or Primavera.\nTechnical Specification Development\nTesting and Commissioning Support\nEquipment FAT Support\nData Center Experience -
