As Senior Manager, Home Lending Credit Risk Automation, you will lead a newly established capability focused on improving how home loan applications move through the credit assessment process.
Working at the intersection of credit risk, analytics, automation and policy, you will lead a team responsible for identifying opportunities to improve automated decisioning outcomes, simplify policy and process frameworks, and enhance customer experiences while maintaining responsible lending and risk standards.
This is a highly visible role where you will partner across Credit Risk, Home Buying, Operations, Product, Technology and Analytics to drive strategic change and measurable business outcomes.

Within Home Buying Credit Risk, we're building a specialised capability focused on using data, insights and automation to create simpler, smarter and more consistent lending decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end credit risk automation program and associated delivery roadmap
- Partner with analytics, technology and policy teams to improve credit decisioning outcomes
- Translate analytical insights into practical policy, process and automation solutions
- Drive simplification initiatives that improve customer experience and operational efficiency
- Influence strategic decisions through data-driven recommendations and governance engagement
- Manage risks, dependencies and delivery priorities across multiple initiatives
- Build capability within a multidisciplinary team of credit risk and analytics professionals
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and evidence-based decision making

You bring a combination of credit risk expertise, strategic leadership and strong analytical literacy. You are comfortable operating in complex environments and translating insights into practical business outcomes.
Credit Risk & Business Expertise:
- Significant experience within mortgage credit risk, home lending, portfolio management or credit strategy
- Deep knowledge of Australian retail lending and responsible lending requirements
- Experience balancing customer outcomes, portfolio quality, risk appetite and regulatory obligations
- Proven success influencing senior stakeholders and leading complex change initiatives
Technical Skills & Analytical Capability:
- Experience working within credit decisioning and automated lending environments
- Understanding of decision engine platforms, business rules frameworks and credit decisioning ecosystems
- Demonstrated hands-on experience using analytical tools such as SQL, SAS, Python, R or similar platforms
- Exposure to workflow automation initiatives and process optimisation programs
- Knowledge of credit strategy systems and decisioning technologies used to support lending outcomes
- Understanding of data architecture, data lineage and information flows supporting credit risk decisions
- Experience using advanced analytics and portfolio insights to inform policy, strategy or operational decisions
- Familiarity with machine learning, predictive modelling and AI-enabled decision support environments
- Experience using process mining, root-cause analysis or operational analytics to identify improvement opportunities
- Understanding of decision science principles and data-driven decision making
- Experience leading teams comprising analytics, policy, operational and technology specialists
Qualifications (Desirable):
- Degree qualification in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Risk Management, Computer Science, Business or a related discipline
- Postgraduate qualifications in Analytics, Risk, Finance, Technology or Leadership will be highly regarded
- Relevant professional certifications in risk, analytics, automation or technology disciplines are advantageous
