The ideal candidate will possess exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve design issues, and recommend and document effective solutions.\nHow You'll Help Us Connect the World:\nEngineering Expertise\nCreate documentation of product requirements based on industry standards.\nCreate designs of new components and assemblies.\nCreate documentation to support the release of new and modified products.\nSupport the optical and mechanical testing of fiber optic products.\nWork with Manufacturing on process development and introductions of new products into Manufacturing.\nPerform data analysis and evaluation.\nLeads and maintains project scopes, tracks Product Development projects, and ensures timely completion of project timelines and milestones.\nConducts Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to assess product criticality and ensure design robustness.\nReview and approve product design and engineering change documentation for conformance to company, customer, agency and industry specifications and standards\nCollaboration and Communication\nAccountable to Engineering Management in support of the business unit growth objectives.\nCollaboration with current staff which includes other engineers and technicians in team\nCollaborates with global design centers and manufacturing sites to resolve design and manufacturing issues, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving.\nDevelop awareness of corporate, business unit and quality management system documentation.\nDevelop awareness of relevant industry standards for fiber optic products\nDevelop awareness of the range of lab test equipment.\nDevelop knowledge of fiber optic products and technical principals.\nDevelop knowledge of engineering tools such as LEAN and/or 6-sigma, DMAIC or other improvement process, DoE, FMEA, MSA, uncertainty\nProcess Excellence\nEnsures seamless design, documentation, and product change management processes.\nShares best practices and knowledge with global manufacturing sites, promoting standardization and efficiency.\nKey Skills\nExcellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.\nSolid knowledge and skilled user of 3D CAD software.\nSolid knowledge of Product Development Process\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.\nUnderstanding of design for manufacturing for sheet metal & Plastic components\nSkilled at planning and ability to pay attention to details.\nAbility to effectively work within a team environment.\nRequired Qualifications for Consideration:\nMaster’s, Bachelor’s, or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5-7years of relevant experience in product development. Proficiency in leading CAD software such as CREO, AutoCAD. Should demonstrate strong knowledge of 2D drafting and GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, sustaining engineering principles.
