Service providers trust CommScope for complete, end-to-end Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) solutions that optimize broadband deployments with reliable quality.\nWe are looking for an Operations Manager to join our Copper Manufacturing Team in Claremont, N.C.\nGeneral Summary\nThe Operations Manager position requires you to lead day-to-day operations and long-term planning for Broadband’s Copper value stream.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nSetting goals, improving technologies, resolving problems, and developing operational plans, budgets, policies, and procedures.\nCollaborating with production supervisors, process engineers, and materials planners to optimize resource utilization and achieve targets.\nManaging the hiring, mentoring, performance, and employee relations of both direct and matrixed reports.\nOverseeing capacity expansion, new product development.\nDriving initiatives for efficiency, cost reduction, and process improvements.\nTranslating customer requirements into innovative manufacturing strategies and processes to optimize cable production.\nLeading the development and implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives to support site operations in achieving their goals.\nTaking proactive measures to promote safety, quality, inventory management, and efficiency.\nImplementing and facilitating of site EHS objectives and initiatives as applicable.\nTaking responsibility for Identifying, minimizing, and mitigating environmental impacts of site processes and activities as applicable.\nCompetencies\nBusiness Insight: Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization's goals\nGlobal Perspective: Taking a broad view when approaching issues, using a global lens.\nEnsures Accountability: Holding self and others accountable to meet commitments.\nDevelops Talent: Developing people to meet both their career goals and the organization's goals.\nRequired Qualifications for Consideration\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering/Industrial Technology or related area.\n8+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations and running large teams, including shift supervisors and manufacturing personnel working in a dynamic 24/7 environment.\n3 years’ experience in people management role.\nIn-depth knowledge of cable extrusions.\nDesirable Qualifications Job Specifications\nExperience with Lean and Six Sigma and SAP, as well as strong ERP experience\nWorked with various customers and suppliers in a low-volume high mix industry, using business intuition and time management skills to lead multiple projects and handle various demands, while managing a diverse group of employees.\nProven capability to coordinate business goals while driving accountability for results, thus improving the overall efficiency of extended value streams\nWhy CommScope:\nCommScope is on a quest to deliver connectivity that empowers how we live, work, and learn.
