You’ll join a collaborative group that values practical engineering, technical rigor, continuous improvement, and direct impact on manufacturing performance.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nDefines the technical requirements and design characteristics for plastic injection molds.\nCoordinate mold design for new product introduction and mold replacement.\nDefine and fill out the RFQ formats for the quotation of molds in which include type of metal, gate, casting system and everything pertinent to mold specifications according to the needs and requirements of each mold.\nTogether with the Project Manager, it selects a supplier for the manufacture of molds according to the characteristics and needs of each project.\nLeads design reviews to proposals submitted by mold manufacturers to ensure compliance with CommScope’s technical specifications.\nDefine the methods for validating new molds.\nSupervise the mechanical inspection of incoming molds to CommScope’s Campus.\nIn coordination with the Tool Room Supervisor, he defines the frequency of preventive maintenance for new molds.\nProvides troubleshooting support with existing molds to Molding Process Engineers.\nThis position/function must be responsible for understanding and following the requirements of the Safety, Health and Environment management system, its Policy, applicable standards and procedures.\nAccountability / Impact\nResponsible for defining the technical and design requirements for the construction of molds for Telecom. He leads the design evaluation in new product introduction and mold replacement, as well as coordinating the design reviews proposed by mold manufacturers. Monitors progress in manufacturing and sampling new molds.\nCompetencies\nCommunicates Effectively: Developing and delivery multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.\nSituational Adaptability: Adapting approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations.\nGlobal Perspective: Taking a broad view when approaching issues, using a global lens.\nManages Complexity: Making sense of complex, high quality, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.\nDecision Quality: Making good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward.\nDrives Engagement: Creating a climate where people are motivated to do their best to help the organization achieve its objective\nRequired Qualifications for Consideration\nBachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.\n5+ years of experience in a similar position.\nKnowledge of metals for mold construction.\nExtensive experience designing plastic injection molds and mold validations.\nProven expertise in plastic injection processes.\nHands-on experience building, debugging, and qualifying mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.\nProficiency with standard productivity tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).\nStrong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.\nAbility to travel up to ~15% to support global manufacturing locations.\nSkills Required\nEnglish- Intermediate.\nKnowledge of Software Mold Flow.\nKnowledge in DFM’s.\nKnowledge in SolidWorks.\nKnowledge in design and manufacture of electrodes.\nDesired Qualifications\nKnowledge in Espirit.\nWhy CommScope:\nCommScope is on a quest to deliver connectivity that empowers how we live, work, and learn.
