This includes, but is not limited to the following:\nProject\nConduct optical, mechanical, and environmental tests of fiber optic products to assess compliance to product requirements.\nCollect, record, analyze and report test data.\nFollow testing schedule and provide status in the lab request system.\nUtilize Microsoft Excel and Word to analyze and report data.\nAssist in performing failure analysis.\nUtilize custom computer software used with test equipment to acquire data.\nReview and approval of test plans and reports if required.\nUtilize test request system to update test status.\nCommunicate issues in a timely manner to the test engineer.\nDepartment\nCompetency/experience with corporate, business unit and lab quality management system documentation.\nCompetency/experience with relevant industry standards for fiber optic products\nCompetency/experience with the range of lab test equipment.\nCompetency/experience with fiber optic products and technical principals.\nCompetency/experience with internal and external customer expectations.\nFollow department safety and efficiency programs.\nParticipate in test equipment maintenance and validations if required.\nComplete training on lab processes, procedures and test methods as required.\nPosition has growth potential with four additional technician titles each with increasing responsibilities.\nCollaboration with current lab staff which includes other test engineers and technicians in team oriented environment.\nFamiliarity with a range of fiber optic products or equivalent.\nAccountability / Impact\nEnsure the validation of new products, equipment qualification and validation, and provide production support for testing activities to guarantee product quality and performance.\nCompetencies\n1.
