We build platforms with speed, structure, and strategy. We work with diverse organisations, includingAIESEC,Rajasthan Royals,Gehna India,Toyota Connected India,Hispanic Star by We Are All Human, Tech to the Rescue andothers. Catalyst, our own product-building framework, allows us to build and deploy products in days, rather than weeks or months. At the heart of it are our components, pre-designed & developed, that are used and updated as we add more projects into our repertoire.\nWe're looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer to own the design end-to-end for our most complex engagements, setting the direction, building the systems that maintain consistent quality, and mentoring the designers coming up behind you.\nThis is a senior individual contributor role with real leadership scope. You'll be the design lead on your projects and the person 2-3 junior and mid-level designers look to for guidance. You won't be managing headcount or writing performance reviews; you'll be raising the standard of the work.\nWhat's expected of you\nAt a product level\nOwn design end-to-end on multiple concurrent projects - discovery through handoff and post-launch iteration\nTranslate ambiguous business goals into a design strategy, then into flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity screens\nBuild and maintain design systems that scale across products and teams - tokens, components, documentation, governance\nSet and defend design direction with clear reasoning, not just strong opinions\nDesign for the full state space: edge cases, error states, empty states, loading, permissions, offline\nPlan responsive and adaptive behaviour across breakpoints and platforms from the start\nRun lightweight research and usability testing, and turn findings into concrete design changes\nDefine what \"good\" looks like for a project and hold the work to it through review\nAt a leadership level\nMentor 2-3 junior and mid-level designers - review their work, unblock them, and help them grow deliberately\nRun design critiques that are useful, specific, and safe to be wrong in\nSet and document design standards, file conventions, and handoff expectations for the team\nLead client-facing design conversations: present work, absorb feedback, and steer scope without losing the user\nPartner with PMs and engineering leads on scoping, feasibility, and sequencing\nMake the call when there isn't consensus, and explain the reasoning afterwards\nGive feedback directly and receive it without defensiveness\nAt a craft level\nAdvanced Figma - variables, component APIs, complex auto layout, interactive prototypes, branching, library publishing\nKeep files clean enough that someone else can pick them up cold\nProduce specs and annotations that engineers can build from without a follow-up meeting\nStay current on how well-built products actually solve problems, and bring that back to the team\nShare what you learn: - writeups, teardowns, internal sessions\nSkills we're looking for\nStrong portfolio of shipped products, with clear articulation of your role, the constraints, and the outcomes\nDemonstrated ownership of a design system - not just using one, but building, documenting, and maintaining it\nExcellent written and verbal communication; you can make a design argument in writing\nSharp visual craft: - layout, typography, colour, hierarchy, spacing, motion\nAbility to break down vague, contested problems into clear flows and sequenced decisions\nComfort working directly with clients and senior stakeholders\nFluency with engineering constraints - you know what's expensive to build and why\nExperience mentoring or leading other designers\nBonus points\nExperience designing for multiple industries or in an agency/studio setting\nMotion design, micro-interactions, or prototyping in code\nFamiliarity with no-code tools like Webflow, Framer, or Squarespace\nAbility to leverage AI tools effectively within the design process\nExperience defining and tracking design metrics\nWhy you'll enjoy working here\nReal ownership - you set the direction, not just execute someone else's\nA front-row seat to product building across multiple industries\nCollaborative teams that value clarity and craft\nTrust-based culture with genuine autonomy\nRoom to shape how design works here, not just how it looks\nSupportive, friendly team\nRequirements\n3+ years of UI/UX design experience, with at least 1 year at a senior level\nA portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product work and clear design thinking\nEvidence of design system ownership\nExperience mentoring or guiding other designers\nComfort working in a fast-paced, structured, client-facing environment","description_format":"text","description_chars":5372,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Commerce","Mobile App Development","Digital Goods"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-13T05:41:35Z"}],"liveness":{"score":51,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.673,"p_room":0.75,"age_days":41,"expected_fill_days":43,"reasons":["conf:10","win:late"],"computed_at":"2026-09-23T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/commutatus-senior-uxui-designer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/commutatus-senior-uxui-designer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-24T05:02:43Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers"}}
