{"id":3775826,"url":"https://alion.io/job/commuteair-maintenance-controller","title":"Maintenance Controller","company":{"id":1948117,"name":"CommuteAir","domain":"commuteair.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/commuteair","size_band":"1001-5000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Dayforce","truth_index":null},"role":"Finance","role_family":"Finance","seniority":"junior","employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"explicit","locations":["Westlake, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":1,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-11-04T05:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-11-04","last_verified_at":"2026-11-06T23:29:26Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":2,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":2},"description":"What the position is: This position coordinates maintenance activities, sets operational priorities, and supports Maintenance Controllers in minimizing delays and maximizing fleet reliability.\n\nEssential Functions:\nAccountable for the Safety Management System (SMS) responsibilities described in the Company's SMS Manual and Title 14 CFR Part 5.23.\nMaintenance Controllers are responsible for monitoring all maintenance activity outside of heavy maintenance.\nMonitor real-time aircraft status and coordinate corrective actions for all aircraft maintenance events.\nEvaluate discrepancies and determine appropriate deferral or corrective action per the GMM.\nCoordinate with System Operations Control, station maintenance, maintenance planning, and materials to support AOG recovery, unscheduled maintenance, and scheduled maintenance.\nAuthorize and track return-to-service activities and RII signoffs per FAA regulations.\nMaintain detailed aircraft status notes, event documentation, IROP consequences and system updates.\nEnsure adherence to the Safety Management System (SMS) and report safety or quality concerns promptly.\nLiaise with vendors and on-call maintenance providers, validating parts, tooling, and labor compliance.\nSupport operational readiness by proactively forecasting maintenance workload and resource needs.\nRegular attendance is an essential function of all positions at CommuteAir. \nOther duties as assigned.\n\nAuthorities:\nPerform any maintenance action on which he/she has been trained, qualified, or authorized.\nShall have authority over line maintenance personnel.\nShall have the authority to contact and authorize on-call maintenance vendors to provide maintenance services to CommuteAir aircraft.\nShall have the authority to apply/clear deferral items in AMOS.\nMay remove any aircraft from service when an unairworthy condition exists.\n\nGeneral requirements & qualifications:\nMust hold a current Airframe and Powerplant certificate and required Company authorizations.\nHave at least one year experience as a Certificated Mechanic.\nHave a good working knowledge of the aircraft systems and the flight operation.\nKnow the Maintenance Policies and Procedures.\nHold a valid state issued driver's license and government issued passport.\nProficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft 365.\nStrong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills; able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.\nAvailable for rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.\nAbility to read, speak, and understand the English language.\nOrganized with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities regularly. \nLegally authorized to work in the USA. \n\nPhysical Requirements:\nSedentary Work \nExerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body, sedentary work involves sitting most of the time and walking /standing occasionally with or without accommodation.\n\nVisual Acuity:\nIncludes inspection, close assembly, clerical administrative; This is a minimal standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer, extensive reading.\n\nEnvironmental Conditions:\nInside environmental conditions; protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. \n\nADA Compliance:\nCommuteAir is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and a workplace that is inclusive and accessible to all individuals.
