We are committed to sustainability practices that include recycling of cabling materials, reducing packaging waste, and implementing efficient installation methods to minimize environmental impact.\nAbout the Role:\nThe Field Engineer is a highly skilled expert in audio visual equipment and is responsible for all oversight and aspects of QA/QC of the integration of AV systems. The Field Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the systems functionality as designed, ensuring standards and procedures are followed, and performing the final inspection of installations. The Field Engineer will be responsible for the system turn-over and client acceptance and will be responsible for training the end user.\nThe Field Engineer will also provide pre-sales support to perform a pre-sales walkthrough when a Design Engineer is not available.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerform a full quality control check for all fabrication and installation efforts, including, but not limited to, AV best practices and ComNet company standards\nParticipate in internal project kick-off meetings that include key participants from sales, engineering, fabrication and installation\nPerform all software/firmware configuration uploads and check to ensure the system performs to both the manufacturer’s specifications and ComNet’s\nCoordinate/approve any red line updates on system drawings for any changes required during the fabrication, installation, and quality control steps\nProvide clear and concise documentation on any configurations implemented or needed for successful implementation (i.e., network configurations, video settings, DSP settings, etc.)\nPerform full system calibrations for audio and video on installed systems\nPerform full control system testing with programming support of installed control systems\nComplete system test and accept/certifications/commissioning for installed solutions both remotely and onsite at client’s premises\nSupport all types of technical escalations from the field team and work with other team members on resolutions as needed\nProvide end user training and support for deployments\nTravel to client sites and other ComNet offices as required\nMust be open to extensive travel\nThe worker is subject to inside/outside environmental conditions\nHelp with field installations when necessary to get projects completed or brought back on timeline\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExpert knowledge of industry and standards in AV systems design and integration\nInfoComm CTS\nDM certification\nMust have excellent communication skills and possess excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform advanced troubleshooting on any device\nBe a team leader and possess excellent leadership qualities\nExpert knowledge of audio principles and must have the ability to write and fine tune audio programs for DSP and VTC systems\nExpert knowledge of loading and troubleshooting AMX, Crestron, and Extron systems\nMust be well versed in interacting with networks (wired or wireless) and must be able to support networked solutions for video conferencing, VOIP audio conferencing and control systems networking\n5-15 years or more of related industry experience\nDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nCTS-I certification, DMC-E certification\nDSP programming certifications\nCisco, Tandberg, Polycom Telepresence installation experience/certification\nSyn-Aud-Con certifications\nAbility to travel 20%\nStriving for excellence in everything we do, ComNet is committed to honoring these core values:\nCharacter - Being honest and acting with integrity toward each other, our customers and ourselves.\nTeamwork - Working together, through the good and the bad, toward a common goal and being jointly responsible for exceeding customer expectations\nKnowledge - Continuously growing our business and technical expertise and sharing our knowledge for the benefit of others\nResponsibility - Being accountable for getting the job done right and doing whatever it takes for the growth and success of our team and our customers\nRespect - Appreciating each person’s value to the team and treating each other with courtesy and professionalism\nEEO\nThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee incumbent in this position.
