Trains and directs Technician Helpers.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nInstall cable support systems in new or existing buildings\nMark and pull wires\nEstablish cable pathways as prescribed by industry standards\nTerminate and test copper voice/data cables\nInstall termination blocks, patch panels and station hardware\nAssist Senior Technicians when directed\nAssist in maintaining job records\nTrain and direct Technician Helpers\nCleanup work site each day\nComply with all safety regulations\nOther duties as assigned\nJOB REQUIREMENTS\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\n1+ year experience in the telecommunications industry\nRequired cable installation certifications\nKnowledge of category rated testers, Cat 3, Cat 5, Cat 5e and Cat 6 cable troubleshooting\nWorking knowledge of fiber optic cable requirements\nKnowledge of fire stopping and grounding\nAbility to read, analyze and decipher scopes of work\nAbility to use basic hand tools, punch down, shears and crimp tools\nAbility to read floor plans\nAbility to communicate orally and in writing\nAbility to train and direct others\nAbility to work effectively with co-workers and customers\nValid drivers license and clean driving record\nAbility to reach with hands and arms\nAbility to climb or balance\nAbility to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl\nAbility to see things at close vision, in color and in focus\nAbility to work in tight/enclosed areas\nAbility for repetitive motions of wrist, hand, or fingers\nAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with heavier weight necessary at times\nThe worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions and noise.\nAA/EEO\nThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee incumbent in this position.
