Trains and directs Technicians and Technician Helpers.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nTravel for the duration of a project; dependent upon size of project\nInstall cable support systems in new or existing buildings\nEstablish cable pathways as prescribed by industry standards\nTerminate and test copper voice/data cables\nInstall termination blocks, patch panels and station hardware\nInstall, terminate, test and troubleshoot fiber optic cable\nCollaborate with Manager and Customer in project planning and implementation\nCoordinate and deliver all required materials, equipment, and safety gear\nPrepare and maintain daily job journals, field change order forms, material inventory forms and all required documentation\nAssist installation kickoff on-site and development of work and safety plan with crew members\nManage location schedules including start time, break time and stop time\nTrain and direct Technicians and Technician Helpers on project installs and safety standards\nCleanup work site each day\nComply with all safety regulations\nOther duties as assigned\nJOB REQUIREMENTS\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\n2+ years experience in the telecommunications industry\nRequired cable installation certifications\nKnowledge of category rated testers, Cat 3, Cat 5, Cat 5e and Cat 6 cable troubleshooting\nAdvanced knowledge of fiber optic cable requirements, fire stopping and grounding\nAbility to travel for extended periods of time\nAbility to read, analyze and decipher scopes of work\nAbility to use basic hand tools, punch down, shears and crimp tools \nAbility to read floor plans\nExcellent oral, written communication skills\nEffective interpersonal skills\nSkill in directing the implementation of telecommunication projects\nAbility to lead people and obtain results through others\nAbility to prioritize conflicting demands\nAbility to train and direct others\nAbility to work effectively with co-workers and customers\nValid driver’s license and clean driving record\nAbility to reach with hands and arms\nAbility to climb or balance\nAbility to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl\nAbility to see things at close vision, in color and in focus\nAbility to work in tight/enclosed areas\nAbility for repetitive motions of wrist, hand, or fingers\nAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with heavier weight necessary at times\nThe worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions and noise.\nEEO\nThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee incumbent in this position.
