This role is responsible for developing and executing detailed work packages that ensure safe, efficient, and compliant maintenance and operational activities within a highly regulated DOE environment.\nYou will play a key role in planning preventative and corrective maintenance, supporting facility systems, and ensuring work is executed with precision in a secure nuclear setting.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and review detailed work packages including labor, materials, time estimates, and step-by-step instructions\nCreate and maintain procedures, safety requirements, and testing documentation for maintenance and operational work\nSupport planning activities across mechanical, electrical, chemical, and/or radiological systems\nIdentify and resolve work constraints, ensuring packages are executable and compliant\nCoordinate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure successful execution\nDrive work packages through full lifecycle (planning → execution → closure)\nUtilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Maximo or similar tools\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree + 12+ years of relevant experience OR20+ years of direct experience without a degree\n\nStrong background in work control planning, maintenance, or construction environments\nExperience developing technical procedures and work instructions\nFamiliarity with facility systems (HVAC, boilers, utilities, etc.)\nAbility to obtain a DOE Q Clearance\nExperience working in highly regulated environments (DOE, nuclear, Navy, etc.)\nPreferred Qualifications\nDOE/NNSA or nuclear facility experience\nExperience with Maximo, Asset Suite, or similar CMMS tools\nCertified Facility Manager (CFM) or Procedure/Policy Writing certification (PPA)\nBackground in facility operations, maintenance planning, or construction support\nTop Skills We’re Targeting\nFacility systems expertise (HVAC, boilers, utilities)\nMaintenance / construction background\nProcedure writing & development\nWork control planning experience (planner or manager level)\nWork Environment\n100% onsite at TA-16 (LANL)\nSecure DOE environment (Q clearance required)\nOutdoor walkdowns and facility inspections required\nMust be able to climb ladders and perform field walkdowns\nAdditional Details\nStart: ASAP\nSchedule: 4x10s\n Duration: 1 year (strong potential for extension or LANL conversion)\n No per diem (relocation possible upon conversion)\nMust be able to operate a government vehicle\nDeal Breakers\nPoor prior contractor performance at LANL\nInability to work 100% onsite\nSplit schedules not permitted\nWhy This Role\nThis is a high-visibility, mission-critical role supporting one of the most important facilities at LANL.
