About The Role
Are you a highly organised with a passion for supporting education? Compass Community is seeking a dedicated School Operations Officer to ensure the smooth running of our School’s non-teaching operations. This is a pivotal role, sitting between office staff and senior leadership, where you’ll make a real difference to our staff, pupils, and families.
About the Role
What You’ll Do
-Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school office, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front-of-house service.
-Manage school systems and databases, including pupil records, attendance, and safeguarding.
-Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Headteacher and wider school team.
-Coordinate maintenance, health and safety checks, and resource orders.
-Support statutory data submissions and compliance processes.
-Act as the first point of contact for parents and carers, ensuring timely and professional communication.
-Organise school meetings and events, including agendas and minute-taking.
-Support with HR administration, admissions, and financial compliance.
What We’re Looking For
-Strong administrative experience, ideally in education, social care, or a regulatory setting.
-Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
-Highly organised, with outstanding attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
-Clear communicator, both written and verbal.
-Discreet, professional, and committed to confidentiality.
-Collaborative, resilient, and motivated by supporting others and improving systems.
-A child-centred outlook, aligned with Compass’ REACH ethos.

-Headteachers feel well-supported and equipped to focus on leadership priorities.
-Administrative systems and trackers are accurate, timely, and accessible.

Qualifications & Experience
-Strong administrative experience, ideally in a social care, education or regulatory setting.
-Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
-Familiarity with compliance processes, audits or data reporting (desirable).
