About The Role

Are you an outstanding teacher looking for your next challenge?

Do you have a passion for working with vulnerable children and want to make a real difference to children’s lives? If the answer to these questions is yes, then why not join us?

Compass Community School is a small, specialist independent school for 11-16 year olds who have already faced a great deal of adversity in their short lives. Our children require very special teachers who are able to manage some complex and challenging behaviours. Our young people require much support, the right sort of communication, consistency and flexibility in equal measure, and a non-judgemental approach.

In Compass Schools, we believe all teachers are, primarily teachers of children, before being teachers of subjects. Central to this role is knowing the child, building professional, nurturing and positive relationships and motivating students.

Despite being a secondary provision, we require a teacher who is versatile and can teach across a range of curriculum subjects from KS2 - KS4. Accordingly, this role will suit a primary or secondary trained teacher.

Because we are part of a much larger organisation - there are many opportunities for career progression.
