Brown Convention Center. This position is responsible for preparing high-quality food for conventions, trade shows, banquets, and special events in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, maintains exceptional food quality standards, and works effectively as part of a large culinary team.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.\nExecute large-scale food production for banquets, concessions, and catered events.\nMaintain consistency, quality, and portion control during peak service periods.\nEnsure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.\nProperly store, label, and rotate food products following FIFO guidelines.\nAssist with prep work, inventory management, and station setup/breakdown.\nOperate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.\nMaintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.\nCollaborate with chefs and team members to ensure timely event execution.\nAdapt quickly to changing event schedules and operational needs.\nQualifications\nPrevious experience as a cook in high-volume food service, hotel, banquet, convention center, stadium, or restaurant environment preferred.\nCulinary certification preferred and required to obtain food handlers certification.\nKnowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.\nAbility to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong communication and teamwork skills.\nAbility to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.\nFlexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.\nFood Handler Certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.\nAbides by all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to:The use of a medium weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.\nThe use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.\nThe use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.\n\nApply to Levy today!\nLevy is a member of Compass Group USA\nClick here to Learn More about the Compass Story\nCompass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
