The position implements approved community activities, supports demand generation and referrals, contributes to follow-up and community-level information flow, and documents activities under the supervision of the Regional Health Specialist.\nResponsibilities\n1. Community Mobilization and Health Promotion\nImplement approved community mobilization, health promotion and awareness activities according to the FCI workplan.\nPromote appropriate health-seeking behavior and awareness related to HIV, TB, malaria, MCH and nutrition.\nEngage community leaders, faith institutions and other community structures in agreed FCI activities.\nSupport reduction of community-level barriers to service uptake and continuity.\n2. Demand Generation and Referral Support\nSupport identification of individuals and households requiring health services and facilitate linkage to spoke facilities.\nPromote referrals and follow up on referral completion where appropriate and within role boundaries.\nSupport continuity-of-care and adherence follow-up activities as directed by qualified health professionals.\nProvide feedback on community-level barriers affecting access, referral, and retention.\n3. Community-Facility Linkages\nMaintain regular communication with assigned spoke facilities and the Regional Health Specialist.\nSupport approved outreach schedules and coordination with CHWs and frontline health workers.\nHelp strengthen bidirectional communication between communities and health facilities.\nSupport community participation in agreed FCI activities and service-linkage processes.\n4. Activity Documentation, Information and Reporting\nImplement and document assigned community activities using approved tools.\nMaintain accurate records of mobilization, outreach, referrals and other assigned activities.\nSubmit timely activity information to the Regional Health Specialist. Escalate sensitive cases, protection concerns or urgent health issues through established channels.\n5. Training, Supervision and Learning\nParticipate in required FCI training, coaching and supervisory sessions.\nApply approved health messages, referral procedures, safeguarding and ethical standards.\nShare community feedback, implementation challenges and lessons learned.\nSupport timely completion of assigned activities and communicate barriers that may affect implementation.\nQualifications and Experience\nBachelor's degree or Diploma in Community Health, Health Extension, Public Health, Community Development, Social Work, Sociology, Health Education, or another relevant field.\nA minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 3 years of relevant community-based experience with a diploma.\nExperience working with local communities, health facilities, or faith/community structures is required.\nFluency in English and the the local language(s) of the assigned district is required.\nRequired Knowledge and Key Competencies\nGood understanding of community engagement and health-promotion principles.\nStrong interpersonal communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills.\nAbility to work respectfully with diverse communities and stakeholders.\nBasic ability to collect, record and report information accurately.\nReliability, confidentiality, safeguarding awareness and willingness to work extensively in communities.\nAccountable for supporting, upholding, and engaging in Compassion's core \"Cultural Behaviors\" in all internal and external communication and relationships. \nActs as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry.
