Your work will have a significant impact and the role will expose you to working on a range of open-source projects for the not-for-profit sector.\nYou will be working with other DevOps engineers, but also with PO, development and QA teams, helping to define the deployment tools and processes in Compuco.\nWe’re a very process-driven team and constantly seek to develop and refine the way we work to ensure that we continue to deliver the highest quality service to our clients and to the sector as a whole. We’re extremely proud of the way we work and the open culture we have developed.\nKey responsibilities:\nDevelop and maintain production infrastructure and mission-critical systems.\n\nLiaise with Development, QA, POs and other stakeholders to be aligned with the needs of the company infrastructure.\n\nStay up-to-date with security best practices and integrate security at every level of the stack.\n\nMonitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues for live environments.\n\nProvide infrastructure architecture advice for Compuco development teams.\n\nInvestigate new infrastructure technology and solutions.\n\nExperience sought:\n4+ years’ experience with Linux administration experience.\n\n3+ years’ experience with web server and PHP applications administration (NGINX preferable).\n\n3+ years’ experience with cloud technologies (our stack is mainly AWS), including 2+ years using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.\n\n3+ years’ experience with Shell Scripting (Bash / PowerShell preferable).\n\n3+ years’ experience with networking fundamentals (DNS, TLS/certificates, load balancing, VPN/VPC, and CDN/WAF such as Cloudflare).\n\n2+ years’ experience developing automation using Ansible.\n\n2+ years’ experience running containers in production (Docker).\n\n2+ years’ experience with monitoring and observability tooling (New Relic, Grafana/Loki or equivalent), including responding to production incidents — triage, root-cause analysis and post-mortems.\n\n1+ years’ experience operating a container orchestration platform (Docker Swarm; Kubernetes an advantage).\n\nComfortable using AI developer tools (e.g. Claude Code) to accelerate work, with good judgement when reviewing and validating AI-generated solutions, code and configuration before it ships.\n\nGood Git skills.\n\nDesirable skills:\n1+ years’ CI/CD familiarity (Jenkins / GitHub Actions), including pipeline scripting in Groovy.\n\n1+ years’ database administration experience (MySQL or equivalent).\n\n1+ years’ experience with Drupal administration.\n\nFamiliarity with Jira or similar tools for project management and issue tracking.\n\nGood understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, with the ability to work in an Agile development environment.\n\nWhat we value in this role:\nStrong collaboration, written and verbal skills.\n\nMust love creating awesome documentation!\n\nCan do / make it happen attitude.\n\nAnd most of all - you are a team player who likes to collaborate and brainstorm with your team!\n\nHow to apply:\nIf you think this is the role for you, please send your CV through to us with a short covering statement explaining what caught your interest and why you think you'll fit in using the form provided.\nType: Permanent\nLocation: Hybrid working (office based in Shoreditch, London) or Fully Remote.\nPlease note that applications will only be considered from those living within the EU or the non-EU countries listed here.\nSalary range: £35k-50k per annum\nAbout Compuco\nOur mission is to empower socially responsible organisations with the digital tools they need to build a better world.
