About the role

The Project Engineer is the Field Engineering technical authority for assigned projects and programs. The role connects the approved solution and scope to field execution by establishing technical expectations, supporting execution planning, managing technical escalations, overseeing quality, and determining whether completed work is acceptable. The Project Engineer works in partnership with the Project Manager, Implementation Specialist, Field Engineering Coordinator, Solutions, customers, and partners. The role owns technical decisions and acceptance within delegated authority; the Project Manager retains project management and commercial governance responsibilities.

Annual Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000

What you'll be doing

  • Partner with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.

Technical Authority and Execution Planning

  • Review the approved scope, design, assumptions, exclusions, standards, drawings, site information, and technical risks before execution.
  • Define the Field Engineering technical execution approach and project specific quality requirements.
  • Provide technical direction to Implementation Specialists, field resources, and partners.
  • Evaluate field conditions that differ from the approved design and determine the required escalation or change path.

Field Oversight and Escalation

  • Maintain visibility to execution progress, technical issues, quality risks, and significant field exceptions.
  • Support resource, sequencing, readiness, and recovery planning from a technical perspective.
  • Resolve or escalate technical issues quickly enough to protect schedule and quality.
  • Ensure off design, off schedule, unsafe, or out of scope conditions are not allowed to continue without action.

Quality and Acceptance

  • Establish required inspections, testing, documentation, artifacts, and acceptance criteria.
  • Review work quality and completion evidence directly or through qualified field leadership.
  • Require correction of deficiencies before technical acceptance.
  • Provide Field Engineering technical sign off and, where applicable, confirm partner work is acceptable before demobilization.

Partner and Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Provide technical oversight of partner supported execution and identify capability or quality concerns.
  • Work with the Project Manager on risk, issue, change, and customer communication requiring technical input.
  • Partner with Solutions and estimating teams to improve assumptions, standards, and future scope quality.
  • Provide feedback to Practice Leads on workforce proficiency, partner performance, recurring defects, and capability gaps.

What you have

  • Minimum 7 years of field engineering, infrastructure deployment, technical project execution, or equivalent experience.
  • 8 - 10+ years of experience, including major, complex, multi site, or partner supported delivery, is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience overseeing complex field delivery, field leads, subcontractors, or partner execution.
