This position enhances the traditional Project Engineer role by incorporating leadership, presales collaboration, and ownership across the full project lifecycle-design, implementation, and closeout. The PE plays a key role in both engineering execution and customer engagement. They guide technical decisions, ensure quality and consistency, assist with project scoping and quoting, and manage escalations throughout the delivery process. By bridging engineering, project management, and sales teams, the PE helps drive successful outcomes for both the company and its clients.\nAnnual Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000\nWhat you'll be doing\nPartner with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.\nTechnical Leadership\nServe as the primary technical authority within the assigned project.\nProvide mentorship and direction while working alongside of Project Engineers, Project Coordinators and Implementations Specialist ensuring standardization, quality, and efficiency.\nAct as the senior escalation point for complex design or implementation challenges (3rd-level escalations).\nProject Lifecycle Ownership\n Design Phase:\nLead the development of Level of Effort (LOE) program designs.\nReview and create accurate, scalable Bills of Materials (BOMs).\nParticipate in sales development engagements to translate customer needs into actionable designs.\nDevelop account-specific engineering programs to support long-term success.\n Implementation Phase:\nOversee project progress from a technical perspective.\nManage critical escalations and ensure technical solutions are implemented effectively.\nInitiate and create Field Change Orders (FCOs) in response to evolving project conditions.\n Closeout Phase:\nReview and submit final engineering deliverables to the PMO for project closure.\nApprove vendor invoices to ensure alignment with deliverables and scope.\nLead After Action Review meetings to capture lessons learned and ensure continuous improvement.\nFinalize and update RAF (Required Asset Form) documentation.\nPresales Support\nCollaborate with sales and solution teams to scope and quote new opportunities.\nEnsure all proposed solutions are technically sound, feasible, and aligned with client requirements.\nParticipate in customer meetings and contribute technical expertise during proposal development.\nQuality Assurance & Documentation\nMaintain high standards across all technical deliverables.\nEnsure documentation is thorough, accurate, and aligned with industry standards (e.g., BICSI, TIA/EIA).\nChampion process improvements and technical innovation within the team.\nEmbrace and support Computacenter’s mission and core values.\nWhat you have\n5+ years of experience in low voltage or ICT infrastructure engineering.\nLegally eligible to work in the United States\n5+ years of experience in low voltage or ICT infrastructure engineering.\nDemonstrated experience leading or mentoring technical project teams.\nStrong understanding of structured cabling systems, network infrastructure, and low voltage technologies.\nProficient in BOM development, field change documentation, and project closeout procedures.\nExcellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.\nBICSI certification (e.g., RCDD) or equivalent desired.\nExperience with construction drawings, CAD, or Revit\nFamiliarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).\nExperience working in a matrix-style project organization.\nWhat you can expect\nThere’s so much more to enjoy about being at Computacenter than just having a rewarding career.
