Covaleyo operates independently with the long-term backing of Andromeda, an operating group of Constellation Software Inc.\n\nPosition Overview:\nCovaleyo is seeking a Development Team Lead and AI leader to lead a lean AI innovation and development team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong software development experience and practical knowledge of AI who can use emerging AI tools to develop software, rapidly build prototypes and iterate, and bring new ideas from concept to working solution.\n\nThe successful candidate will lead and mentor the development team while actively using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software development and experimentation. They will also help ensure that solutions are developed with appropriate security, privacy, and compliance considerations, particularly within a financial services environment.\n\nThis is an opportunity for a hands-on technical leader to help shape how AI is used to develop and enhance software within a growing fintech business.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nEngineering & AI Leadership\n\nLead software development, ensuring high-quality, scalable, secure solutions and strong Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.\n\nProvide technical guidance on architecture, infrastructure, and system design while leveraging AI-assisted development tools.\n\nLead AI innovation, including prototyping, proof-of-concepts, and evaluating emerging AI technologies.\n\nEnsure strong alignment between engineering and product teams to support successful delivery.\n\nTeam Leadership\n\nManage, mentor, and provide technical leadership to an offshore development team.\n\nEstablish clear goals, KPIs, and performance expectations while fostering ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\n\nBuild team capabilities in software development, AI, and emerging technologies.\n\nSecurity & Compliance\n\nEnsure software and AI solutions incorporate strong security, privacy, and compliance practices.\n\nApply knowledge of PII, security integrations, and SOC audits throughout the development lifecycle.\n\nStrategic & Business Impact\n\nAlign development and technology strategies with business goals and revenue objectives.\n\nIdentify emerging technologies and opportunities that drive innovation and business value.\n\nChampion data-driven decision-making and ensure technology investments deliver measurable results.\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, EconomicsMathematics, or a related technical or analytical discipline.\n\n5+ years experience with a strong background in AI, software development, technology innovation, or a related field.\n\nDemonstrated experience prototyping and developing software solutions using AI tools and AI-assisted development technologies.\n\nStrong practical knowledge of AI and AIagentic development tools (AI DLC) and how they can be used to accelerate software development.\n\nExperience leading, mentoring, or managing a technical or innovation-focused team.\n\nUnderstanding of software security, PII, security integrations, SOC audits, and related compliance considerations.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.\n\nAbility to work in a hands-on environment and move quickly from concept to prototype.\n\nStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.\n\nExperience in the financial services or fintech sector is an asset.\n\nSalary Range (Ontario & BC Only):The estimated base salary range for this role is CAD$90,000.00 – CAD$110,000.00 per year.
