# Software Architect (Android)

Job Summary: We are looking for a hands-on Android Architect to own the architecture, quality, and scalability of the Vagaro Pro and Vagaro customer Android apps. You will set technical direction for the Android platform, lead the modernization of a large production codebase, and raise the engineering bar across the mobile team. Key Responsibilities: Own the Android app architecture: modularization, layering, state management, navigation, and dependency injection. Define and drive the Android technical roadmap, including the Java to Kotlin and XML to Jetpack Compose migration. Author architecture decision records (ADRs) and design docs; review and approve significant designs and critical PRs. Design API contracts with backend teams covering REST, pagination, error handling, offline sync, and versioning. Set and enforce targets for crash-free users, ANR rate, cold start time, app size, and memory usage. Lead root-cause analysis for production crashes and incidents, and drive fixes to closure. Define the Android testing strategy (unit, UI, integration) and automation coverage gates per release. Own app security: encrypted storage, certificate pinning, token handling, and OWASP MASV
