In this position you will analyze systems, provide design support on projects to improve Con Edisons electric distribution systems, develop solutions to satisfy our customers electric service needs, produce high quality construction layouts, and update system configuration drawings. To be considered for the position, you must meet the position qualifications and successfully complete an aptitude test and in-person structured interview.\nCore Responsibilities\nThe Junior Designer will conduct engineering analysis to determine the adequacy of electric distribution system components\nDesign projects to reinforce electric distribution system components\nDevelop detailed construction drawings for work which includes drawings and instructions for the installation, maintenance, modification, or removal of system components\nUse computer-aided design (CAD) software to generate engineering prints and construction drawings\nUpdate prints to capture current system configurations\nProvide engineering support during system emergencies to maintain or restore service to customers\nSelected candidates may be assigned to work in either the Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Westchester based on business needs\nRequired Education/Experience\nHigh School Diploma/GED and 2 years Design Work Experience or\nAssociate's Degree In Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering Technology\nSkills and Abilities\nCompetent in the use of Auto-Cad to generate drawings.\nAbility to interpret basic information on drawings.\nDemonstrated problem solving skills\nMust be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.\nDemonstrated analytical skills\nWell organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments\nPerforms work independently with minimal supervision\nLicenses and Certifications\nDriver's License Required\nPhysical Demands\n Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday\n Possess manual dexterity and the ability to use hands for the duration of the
