Acting as a subject matter advisor, the specialist serves as a liaison between EH&S departments and operational teams, develops and implements EH&S programs and training, and mentors senior specialists and inspectors.\nThis position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.\n Core ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and manage safety, health and environmental programs for Company and Contractor employees. Ensures that safe work practices are followed and that the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.\nMaintain expertise in EH&S matters pertinent to operating areas and provide advice, counsel, and information to all levels of the organization.\nResponsible for providing guidance, oversight and training to Constructions field operations groups. Works with field groups to ensure that all local operations are conducted in compliance with federal, state and local EH&S regulations and standards as Company procedures and protocols.\nInitiate and disseminate expert communications on EH&S issues between all organizational levels within Construction to promote a strong EH&S culture. Ensures that EH&S information is accurately and efficiently disseminated to operating field groups.\nMaintain subject matter expertise on EH&S topics, develop training classes, and deliver quality presentations to Company employees.\nDevelop and implement plans, programs, and strategies to ensure that local operations effectively protect workers, the general public and the environment from the potential physical, chemical and biological hazards associated with or produced by Company operations and activities.\nConduct and oversee field audits of Company crews and the contractor work force. Conduct post-event meetings. Manage and prioritize corrective actions.\nEnsure that all field group documentation, including, but not limited to, permits, licenses, certificates, reports, and inspection records are submitted and/or maintained in a timely, complete, accurate, accessible manner as required by government regulations and Company policies and procedures.\nServe as mentor, coach, and advisor to EHS Senior Specialists, and assumes Delegation of Authority for Manager and Section Manager as required.\nLead committees and work groups to drive change, ensure compliance, and advance EHS programs through new safety strategies, process improvements, and resource conservation initiatives.\nRequired Education/Experience\nAssociate's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of full time relevant work experience or\nBachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of full time relevant work experience or\nMaster's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of full time relevant work experience\nPreferred Education/Experience\nBachelor's Degree in Safety, engineering, physical science, or biological science and a minimum of 3 years of full time relevant work experience or\nMaster's Degree in Safety, engineering, physical science, or biological science and a minimum of 2 years of full time relevant work experience\nRelevant Work Experience\n Strong working knowledge of Federal, State and Local EH&S Regulations for environmental, health and safety concerns (including but not limited to asbestos, lead, natural resources, water discharge management, oil management, hazardous waste, remediation issues, excavations, confined space), required.\n Highly motivated and committed to delivering excellence in the area of EH&S and must recognize the critical importance of teamwork, required.\nSkills and Abilities\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nMust be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.\nWell organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments\nLicenses and Certifications\nDriver's License Required\nPhysical Demands\n Ability to respond to system emergencies\n Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold\n Ability to work in adverse conditions that include, noise, confined spaces, and high elevations\n Ability to be approved to wear and use either a full or half-face respirator, without facial hair or other conditions that may interfere with the seal, in accordance with OSHA regulations\n Stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workday\n Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies\n Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses\nAdditional Physical Demands\nThe selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and
