The Cloud Solution Architect will serve as the technical authority for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations while also driving the functional architecture and solution design for Dynamics 365 Project Operations.

The role requires a strong combination of enterprise solution architecture, cloud technologies, integration design, development governance, and business process understanding across project-based organizations. The architect will lead end-to-end design, implementation, optimization, and modernization initiatives within the Microsoft ecosystem, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.

Primary Focus: D365 F&O Technical Architecture (70%) + D365 Project Operations Functional Architecture (30%)

Key Responsibilities:

D365 Finance & Operations - Technical Architecture

Solution Architecture:

• Design and govern enterprise-scale Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations architectures.

• Define application, integration, security, and infrastructure architectures.

• Lead technical solution design workshops with stakeholders and engineering teams.

• Establish architecture standards, development frameworks, and governance processes.

Development & Technical Leadership:

• Provide oversight for X++ customizations and extensions.

• Design upgrade-safe solutions using Microsoft best practices.

• Guide development teams through code reviews and technical design reviews.

• Define deployment strategies across DEV, TEST, UAT, and PROD environments.

Integration Architecture:

• Architect integrations between:

  • D365 F&O

  • Azure Integration Services

  • Power Platform

• Design solutions leveraging:

  • Data Management Framework (DMF)

  • Dual Write

  • Dataverse

  • Logic Apps

  • API Management

Dynamics 365 Project Operations - Functional Architecture

Functional Solution Design:

• Lead functional design for Dynamics 365 Project Operations.

• Translate business requirements into scalable Project Operations solutions.

• Design project lifecycle management processes including:

  • Project creation

  • Resource allocation

  • Budgeting

  • Forecasting

  • Time and expense management

  • Project accounting

  • Revenue recognition

Business Process Consulting:

• Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders.

• Conduct Fit-Gap Analysis.

• Recommend process improvements and industry best practices.

• Create functional design documents and solution blueprints.

Resource & Project Management:

• Design solutions supporting:

  • Resource scheduling

  • Capacity planning

  • Skills management

  • Demand forecasting

  • Utilization tracking

Financial Management:

• Define project costing models.

• Configure billing methodologies.

• Design revenue and profitability tracking processes.

• Support integrated financial reporting across project portfolios.

User Adoption:

• Support organizational change management initiatives.

• Lead user acceptance testing (UAT).

• Assist training teams and business champions.

• Ensure successful business adoption of Project Operations capabilities.
