This part-time position helps maintain accurate records, complete reconciliations, support period-end close, and prepare financial information in accordance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable Canadian accounting and tax requirements.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nProcess accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoices, payment requests, expense reports, vendor and customer records, and routine collection activity.\nPrepare and post journal entries, maintain accurate accounting records, complete bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations; investigate discrepancies and resolve routine issues.\nSupport monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, financial and management reporting, supporting schedules, and budget preparation.\nMaintain the fixed asset register; record acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and capital expenditures; and calculate monthly depreciation and amortization.\nSupport payroll-related accounting and reconciliations and maintain GST/HST and other tax-related records and reporting.\nMaintain organized financial documentation, follow company policies, internal controls, and applicable Canadian requirements, and perform other related duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nDiploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.\n1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.\nKnowledge of Canadian accounting practices and GST/HST requirements.\nExperience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or ERP systems.\nGood working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and spreadsheets.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.\nGood organizational and time-management skills.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality when handling financial information.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nCompensation: CAD $30.00-$34.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
