The successful candidate will provide accounting and reporting support to the Development Finance team and take an energetic, detail-oriented approach to a broad range of responsibilities.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare monthly funding requests and construction loan draws, ensuring that complete and accurate information is provided to all funding partners. Maintain and monitor loan balances, deposit insurance balances, and related interest.\nReview accounts payable and assist in maintaining up-to-date, complete and accurate accounts payable and project costing records.\nSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting by preparing required schedules and supporting documentation.\nCoordinate with Sales and Marketing teams to prepare and maintain reports and schedules related to sales documentation, purchaser deposits, mortgage approvals, and commission payments.\nUpdate the property tax assessment and property tax notice tracker and coordinate with Corporate Accounting to ensure all property taxes are paid in a timely manner.\nAssist the Senior Accountant in liaising with external legal counsel and Sales staff to support an accurate and timely sales-closing process.\nPrepare monthly project-level accounting information and financial reports, including trial balance reviews, general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and variance and ratio analysis.\nSupport the development, documentation, and implementation of the accounts payable digital transformation strategy and related process improvements.\nReview and document departmental processes and procedures, and recommend improvements where appropriate.\nAssist the Senior Accountant in preparing project status reports for straightforward, stand-alone projects.\nSupport development and construction teams with commitment setup and ad hoc reporting.\nOther accounting duties as required.\n\nRequired Knowledge & Skills\nAt least two years of general accounting experience; experience in real estate development or construction is preferred but not required.\nStrong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work through thorough self-review.\nSolid oral and written communication skills. \nAbility to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.\nExperience with Yardi is a plus.\nCollaborative team player with a willingness to support colleagues as needed.\nCurious and enthusiastic, with the desire and aptitude to learn, grow, and progress professionally in a supportive environment.\n\nPlease note this is a general description of the tasks and skills required.
