Job Description

Location:

New York, NY

This is a global role, covering brands’ digital site performance in all markets. In addition to providing recurring reporting, this role will also have opportunities to conduct ad hoc exploratory analyses that provide deeper understanding of digital content and audiences.

As Analyst, Audience Analytics, you thrive on solving complex business data challenges with both technical skill and human-centered collaboration. You’re fluent in SQL and comfortable with Python (or eager to learn), but you also recognize that data must be accessible where stakeholders work most-often in spreadsheets. With a practical command of Google Sheets (or Excel, with a willingness to learn Sheets), including advanced functions like query and array formulas, you make data usable and actionable.

You know that meaningful insights arise from conversations as much as from queries. You build trust with collaborators-including fellow analysts who rely on your technical expertise-while fostering open, thoughtful questioning. In an industry defined by constant change and emerging opportunities, you bring clarity and calm. Because not every problem has a simple, binary solution, you excel at engaging deeply with complex questions and delivering well-structured datasets that enable insights to move the business forward-even when the answers are nuanced or evolving. This is a Guild position.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leverage global digital data to create and enhance recurring weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting on traffic and KPIs for leadership, editorial and cross-functional teams across the organization
  • Conduct content analysis to guide cross-market content strategy for the editorial teams across regions
  • Gather, analyze, and visualize industry data to help the team stay abreast of competitors, while providing insights for Commercial teams to take to market
  • Utilize data from various distro sources - social, SEO, email, etc - to build an integrated view of audiences and their needs, behaviors and attitudes
  • Respond to ad hoc data needs across multiple departments, developing a deep understanding of audience analytics in order to deliver the right data for functions as varied as Editorial, Finance, and Partnerships.
  • Ensure data quality and accuracy by sense-checking numbers, troubleshooting discrepancies across multiple sources, and coordinating with teams such as Data Governance, Business Intelligence, and Data Engineering. Partner with other analysts to QA and improve their code.
  • Support the production of regular reporting, including weekly and monthly audience performance updates, while continuously identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Additional duties as required

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience, ideally in a quantitative role
  • Passion for new media & technological possibilities with an eager curiosity; demonstrated ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to identify and interpret patterns and trends
  • Proactive, self-starter who is eager to learn and take on individual projects and analyses
  • Hands-on experience with reporting and analyses utilizing a major web analytics tool such as Parsely, Databricks, Mode
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets is a must
  • Experience using SQL-based exploratory analytics tools is a must

The expected base salary range for this position is from $78,000 - $88,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
