British GQ is seeking a Senior Social Editor to own the brand's social media strategy and manage content distribution across all of our social platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong journalistic background, is capable of crafting highly engaging social captions and has a proven track record of growing social traffic.

The role requires the ability to operate within a fast-paced publishing environment, react in real time to cultural events, and an understanding of British GQ’s editorial voice.

This person must have strong writing skills, a keen eye for visual storytelling and an ability to bring forward opportunities to generate revenue.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee social storytelling and content distribution, with daily posting on all of our social channels.
• Write all of our social captions and produce visually compelling editorial content.
• Master British GQ’s editorial voice and tone which may be different between platforms.
• Plan, design and implement successful social strategies on cover reveals, tentpoles and global and local stories.
• Work with the editorial and commerce teams to strategise ways to increase traffic
• Adjust social strategy according to KPIs
• Work closely with the social video team on video content

Requirements:

• A strong journalistic background.
• 5+ years of social media experience
• Strong editorial judgement: writing skills for captions, headlines and visual storytelling
• Immaculate proof-reading skills and a razor-sharp eye for detail
• Proven ability in visual storytelling that drives engagement
• Experience with video editing and asset creation
• Excellent organisational skills, focus, and attention to detail, with a solutions oriented mindset
• Able to work outside standard working hours (flexibility for evenings and weekends as and when needed)
• Ability to clearly communicate and present to all levels of management
