This role focuses on applications supporting Point-of-Sale and batch processing environments and requires strong hands-on experience with Micro Focus COBOL, CICS, JCL, Oracle, and Linux.\nYou will analyze existing applications, develop and test enhancements, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and support system performance and reliability. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to understand business requirements, develop technical solutions, and support system upgrades and modernization initiatives.\nResponsibilities\nAnalyze, design, develop, implement, maintain, and enhance systems supporting Point-of-Sale and batch processes using Micro Focus COBOL, CICS, Oracle, and JCL.\nAnalyze RFP and business requirements, collaborate with internal teams and clients, and contribute to solution design, technical documentation, and development estimates.\nDevelop and unit test software solutions to ensure they meet business and client requirements.\nDevelop testing recommendations and support comprehensive testing of system modifications and enhancements.\nTroubleshoot, investigate, resolve, and document complex application and production issues.\nIdentify and implement solutions to minimize system disruptions and prevent outages.\nProvide on-call production support as needed.\nCollaborate with clients and internal teams to explain technical issues and recommend appropriate solutions.\nAssist in preparing functional and technical specifications for application systems.\nPresent system requirements, designs, and proposed solutions to client and internal stakeholders.\nPrepare regular status updates on development activities for management.\nMaintain and update system documentation, reports, and technical exhibits.\nRequirements\n7+ years of experience working with Micro Focus COBOL, CICS, JCL, and Oracle in a Linux environment.\nStrong hands-on expertise with Micro Focus COBOL, Oracle 10g/11g, CICS, and JCL.\nStrong SQL skills with the ability to develop complex SQL statements.\nHands-on experience with Micro Focus Net Express IDE.\nExperience working within a Red Hat Linux environment.\nExperience developing or supporting a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) system.\nExperience with production support activities and monitoring.\nFlexibility to work morning or afternoon shifts based on business needs.\nWorking knowledge of mainframe environments and technologies.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.\nAbility to quickly learn and work with new technologies.\nAt least 3 years of U.S.-based professional experience.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with IBM COBOL, ACUCOBOL, or other COBOL environments.\nFamiliarity with ANSI-compliant databases.\nExperience working with SQL across relational database platforms.\nExperience developing or supporting a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) system.\nFlexible Working\nAt Conduent, we value individuality and flexible working arrangements.
