Acting as a bridge between business stakeholders, Product Management, Engineering, Client Services, Finance, Legal and external data providers, you will help ensure that market data assets are acquired and managed effectively.\nThis is a broad role offering exposure to commercial, operational and technical work. You will have visibility with senior stakeholders and the opportunity to strengthen an evolving market data governance capability. Preferred locations are Montreal, Toronto, Pittsburgh or Boston, with candidates elsewhere in the Northeast US also considered.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage market data procurement, vendor relationships, contract renewals, pricing discussions and service reviews.\nLead collaborative commercial negotiations and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and service improvement.\nReconcile and approve supplier invoices, while providing reliable budgeting and financial-control support.\nMaintain accurate market data, contract and usage inventories, and respond to commercial supplier notifications.\nStrengthen data-governance standards and controls, including definitions, lineage documentation, data dictionaries, licensing obligations and usage rights.\nPartner with Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Client Services and external providers to improve data quality, workflows, automation and operational efficiency.\nWhat skills and experience do I need to succeed?\nEssential Requirements\nAt least three years’ experience in market data, financial data management, business analysis or a data-product environment.\nDirect experience working with financial market data vendors and supplier-management processes.\nExperience of market data licensing, commercial negotiation or complex contract review.\nKnowledge of financial instruments, indexes, exchanges, ESG data, reference data or pricing data.\nUnderstanding of budgeting, accounting considerations and supplier invoice reconciliation.\nStrong data-analysis, problem-solving, communication and project-management skills.\nAbility to build effective relationships across business, technical and commercial teams.\nA collaborative, measured negotiation style, with the judgement to balance commercial objectives and long-term vendor relationships.\nDesirable Requirements\nExperience supporting data-governance initiatives, governance frameworks or data-quality controls.\nKnowledge of market data usage reporting, operations and licensing obligations.\nExperience in asset management, asset servicing or investment-management workflows.\nPrevious collaboration with Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal and Data teams.\nExperience with SQL, Power BI, database maintenance, workflow analysis, reporting or automation. \n\nWhat do we offer?\nConfluence offers generous benefit packages for team members.
