This role ensures that all assigned areas, including resident rooms, common areas, and service areas, are cleaned and maintained to the highest standard, creating a safe and comfortable environment for residents, guests, and employee care partners. By fostering relationships and honoring each resident’s preferences, the Housekeeper helps create a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels like home.\nKey Accountabilities \nClean and disinfect resident rooms and bathrooms. \nDust, vacuum, mop floors, and polish surfaces in resident rooms. \nChange bed linens, replace towels, and replenish room supplies as needed while inviting residents to participate in tasks they enjoy or find meaningful. \nEmpty trash and recycling bins in resident rooms, replacing liners regularly. \nReplenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and essentials in resident rooms. \nClean and disinfect dining areas and common spaces. \nDust, vacuum, mop floors, and polish surfaces in common areas. \nMaintain cleanliness in corridors, stairways, elevators, and other common areas. \nPerform deep cleaning tasks in common areas, such as carpet cleaning, upholstery care, and high dusting. \nEnsure all cleaning equipment is maintained and stored correctly in common areas. \nEmpty trash and recycling bins, replenish cleaning supplies and toiletries in common areas. \nMonitor stock levels and report any maintenance or low-stock issues. \nFollow all safety guidelines when using cleaning chemicals and equipment. \nComply with infection control policies to prevent the spread of germs, especially in healthcare or senior living environments. \nEnsure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary. \nReport damage, maintenance issues, or safety concerns to the supervisor. \nCommunicate effectively with residents, guests, and staff to address their needs. \nEngage residents in conversation, recognizing that even brief interactions can bring comfort and connection. \nGreet and interact with residents, guests, and staff respectfully. \nRespond promptly to special requests or concerns related to cleanliness or supplies. \nRequired Education & Documentation \nA high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. \nWHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) training for handling cleaning chemicals is beneficial. \nCPR or First Aid Certification is a plus but not mandatory.\nRequired Skills \nStrong attention to detail to maintain high cleanliness standards. \nAbility to work independently and manage time effectively. \nGood communication skills to interact with residents, guests, and staff. \nOrganizational skills to prioritize cleaning tasks and maintain schedules.\nAdditional Preferred Education and Skills Asset\nPrevious experience in housekeeping or janitorial services is preferred but not mandatory. \nOn-the-job training is typically provided.
