With more than 40 years in the industry, Conner continues to deliver reliable, tailored packaging solutions that meet the demands of our customers.\nKEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe Conner Industries Outside Sales Representative position is ideal for the candidate who has had success in sales and relationship building, may be new to the industrial lumber and wood packaging business, is eager to learn and desires great success in sales.\nThis position is a role that will include intensive education on the fundamentals of the industrial lumber business, with base pay plus commission to start. The successful Sales Rep will learn the industrial lumber business and eventually build their book of business by prospecting for customers in our industry. If being an entrepreneur with unlimited earning potential based on hard work and dedication, this is the job for you.\nRequirements\nDUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS\nLearn the industrial lumber market and processes required to manufacture and sell industrial lumber \nUnderstand and effectively present Conner’s manufacturing, service and quality capabilities that benefit our industry \nWilling to take a hands-on approach in all aspects of our business\nUtilize and maintain the Conner CRM and pipeline system\nCreate and build long-lasting customer relationships on multiple levels\nDevelop and negotiate customized pricing contracts while understanding risk/reward\nCommunicate internally with Conner Purchasing, Production, Transportation and Accounting\nClose sales by telephone and face to face, traveling as needed\nManage account profitability and grow revenue and revenue base\nManage orders through production cycle and satisfy the customer\nDemonstrated sales experience and ability to work effectively as part of a team\nSelf-Starter and eager to learn, motivated by the hunt and a desire to improve\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to prioritize and multi-task with a strong attention to detail\nAbility to develop and give oral presentations to both small and large groups\nWilling to travel; must have a dependable vehicle\nPotentially relocate to develop new regions/markets\nExperience in sales processes including cold calls, prospecting, target selling and account management\nAnalytical thinker with a strong emphasis on data gathering and analysis\nEnergetic, organized with ability to manage a wide range of projects and priorities\nQUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\nBachelor’s degree preferred \nCoursework in business curriculum a plus\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in sales or other customer-facing roles\nStrong computer skills with experience in the Microsoft Office suite\nOTHER DUTIES\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Office work requires sitting at a computer monitor for extended periods of time.
