This position is a role that will include intensive education on the fundamentals of the industrial lumber and packaging business, with base pay plus commission.\nThe successful Sales Rep will learn the industrial lumber and wood packaging business and eventually build their book of business by prospecting for customers in our industry. If being an entrepreneur with unlimited earning potential based on hard work and dedication, this is the job for you.\nRequirements\nDUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS\nLearn the industrial lumber market and processes required to manufacture and sell industrial lumber\nUnderstand and effectively present Conner’s manufacturing, service and quality capabilities that benefit our industry\nWilling to take a hands-on approach in all aspects of our business\nUtilize and maintain the Conner CRM and pipeline system\nCreate and build long-lasting customer relationships on multiple levels\nDevelop and negotiate customized pricing contracts while understanding risk/reward\nCommunicate internally with Conner Purchasing, Production, Transportation and Accounting\nClose sales by telephone and face to face, traveling as needed\nManage account profitability and grow revenue and revenue base\nManage orders through production cycle and satisfy the customer\nDemonstrated sales experience and ability to work effectively as part of a team\nSelf-Starter and eager to learn, motivated by the hunt and a desire to improve\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to prioritize and multi-task with a strong attention to detail\nAbility to develop and give oral presentations to both small and large groups\nWilling to travel; must have a dependable vehicle\nPotentially relocate to develop new regions/markets\nExperience in sales processes including cold calls, prospecting, target selling and account management\nAnalytical thinker with a strong emphasis on data gathering and analysis\nEnergetic, organized with ability to manage a wide range of projects and prioritie\nQUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\nMust currently live in the Houston, TX area and be within a one-hour commute to Conroe, TX.\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in selling products or services to industrial manufacturers in the Houston, TX area. \nHaving a strong list of existing customer contacts is a plus.\nBachelor’s degree preferred\nCoursework in business curriculum a plus\nStrong computer skills with experience in the Microsoft Office suite\nPhysical Requirements\nWhile this is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the ability to work in confined quarters of an office, there are times the employee may be required to stand, walk or work in a manufacturing warehouse environment. Also requires the ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and/or carry items up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to have finger dexterity in operating a computer keyboard. Office work requires sitting at a computer monitor for extended periods of time.
