Our technology environment includes C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, APIs, integrations, and distributed systems.\nThe Senior SDET should also be comfortable supporting release validation, exploratory testing, and manual regression when needed. However, the expectation is that this person will consistently identify opportunities to improve coverage and replace repetitive manual validation with reliable, maintainable automation.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, test harnesses, utilities, and supporting infrastructure.\n\nDevelop automated tests for APIs, web applications, databases, integrations, and distributed systems.\n\nPartner with software engineers, product owners, and quality engineers to improve testability and define effective quality strategies.\n\nReview requirements, architecture, acceptance criteria, and technical designs to identify quality risks and coverage gaps.\n\nCreate test strategies that balance unit, integration, API, UI, database, regression, performance, and exploratory testing.\n\nWrite production-quality test code using one or more modern programming languages.\n\nPerform database validation and develop automated data-verification solutions using SQL.\n\nParticipate in manual regression, exploratory testing, and release-certification activities when required.\n\nIdentify high-value manual test scenarios and convert them into automated coverage.\n\nAnalyze test failures, application logs, data issues, and system behavior to isolate root causes.\n\nContribute to CI/CD pipelines and improve the reliability and visibility of automated test execution.\n\nHelp establish engineering standards for test design, automation architecture, reporting, and maintainability.\n\nMentor other quality engineers and provide constructive technical guidance through code reviews and design discussions.\n\nUse AI-assisted software development tools responsibly to accelerate test design, implementation, debugging, documentation, and code review.\n\nWork independently across multiple projects while communicating risks, dependencies, and progress clearly.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nSeven or more years of professional experience in software quality engineering, test automation, software development, or a closely related technical role.\n\nDemonstrated professional programming experience with one or more of the following:\nPython\n\nTypeScript\n\nJavaScript\n\nC#\n\nJava\n\nStrong SQL skills and experience validating relational databases.\n\nExperience designing or significantly contributing to test automation frameworks or test harnesses.\n\nStrong understanding of software architecture, test architecture, test design, and application testability.\n\nExperience testing APIs, web applications, databases, and system integrations.\n\nAbility to read application code, troubleshoot failures, and collaborate effectively with software developers.\n\nExperience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.\n\nExperience designing maintainable test suites rather than relying primarily on record-and-playback automation.\n\nAbility to perform risk-based testing and determine the appropriate level of coverage for a change.\n\nDemonstrated proficiency using AI-assisted software development tools as part of an engineering workflow.\n\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple workstreams.\n\nIntellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and the ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to work onsite in the Vinings area of Atlanta three days per week.\n\nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working across application stacks involving C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.\n\nExperience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, REST-assured, pytest, NUnit, xUnit, or similar tools.\n\nExperience testing event-driven, service-oriented, or distributed architectures.\n\nExperience with cloud-hosted applications and containerized test environments.\n\nExperience with performance, load, security, or reliability testing.\n\nExperience building test-data management, environment-validation, or database-seeding utilities.\n\nExperience working in insurance, benefits, healthcare technology, financial services, or another regulated industry.\n\nExperience coaching other engineers in automation design and quality engineering practices.\n\nWhat Success Looks Like\nWithin the first several months, the Senior SDET will be expected to:\nDevelop a practical understanding of Connexure’s core products and technical architecture.\n\nIdentify high-risk and high-value opportunities for additional automated coverage.\n\nContribute meaningful automated tests across multiple products and platforms.\n\nImprove the reliability, maintainability, and visibility of existing automation.\n\nReduce repetitive manual regression effort without sacrificing release confidence.\n\nEstablish credibility as a technical quality partner across engineering, product, and QA.\n\nHelp the organization progress toward an automation-first quality engineering
