Our focus is supplying Australian customers with natural gas and international customers with liquefied natural gas. We do this through our 47.5 percent interest in the Australia Pacific LNG joint venture, one of the largest producers of natural gas in eastern Australia. ConocoPhillips Australia also operates the Australia Pacific LNG liquefied natural gas facility near Gladstone. We are also an exploration company, with ongoing exploration occurring in the Bowen and Surat Basin in Central Queensland and new exploration in the Otway Basin along the southern coast of Australia to identify natural gas reserves for supply to Australian customers.\nAbout the Role\nReporting to the Mechanical Engineering Lead, the Rotating Equipment Engineer is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and improving the reliability, availability and safe, efficient performance of assigned plant rotating equipment.\nEquipment within the remit of the Rotating Equipment Team includes a range of gas turbines, compressors, electric motors, pumps, diesel generators, fans, blowers, gear boxes and package auxiliary systems.\nKey responsibilities include but are not limited to:\nConducting root cause analyses, technical investigations and developing recommendations to reduce or eliminate defects and premature failures.\nParticipate in the defect elimination process for rotating equipment, performing analysis on various data streams (e.g. SAP) to identify and resolve machinery issues.\nParticipate in site shutdown and equipment repair/overhaul activities, assisting with scope and ITP development, quality assurance and management of engineering change.\nSpecify, conduct and/or arrange quality surveillance of onsite and offsite vendors’ work for selected rotating equipment repairs and overhauls.\nSupport rotating equipment maintenance management practices including review and revision of maintenance strategies, plans and procedures.\nAssist in the development of annual engineering and/or maintenance budgets, both Capital expenditure (CAPEX) and Operating Expenses (OPEX) within assigned accountabilities.\nDrive assigned actions arising from the condition monitoring program.\nParticipate in risk reviews and hazard analyses from rotating equipment technical perspective.\nDevelop appropriate risk mitigations during abnormal operating scenarios ensuring safe practices as required.\nAudit Maintenance of Rotating Equipment within assigned accountabilities.\nYou will bring to the role:\nRequired:\nCultural alignment with ConocoPhillips’ SPIRIT Values\nTertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline\nMinimum 5 years of experience with rotating and/or mechanical equipment in Petrochemical or similar business, preferably in an operational support role\nExperience in the operation and maintenance of a range of rotating equipment\nExperience in reading and understanding plant and package design drawings, specifications, vibration data, oil analysis data\nUnderstanding / Knowledge of:\nAustralian and international standards relating to plant rotating equipment\nUnderstanding of Vendor/Equipment supplied data sheets\nUnderstanding of Root Cause Analysis Investigation methodology\nKnowledge & understanding of vibration analysis tools and data\nCritical Skills:\nExperience with Plant Maintenance Management Systems and processes\nExperience with Management of Engineering Change in operating plants, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry, including preparation of specifications, data sheets and similar engineering documentation\nA high level of self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work within a multi-discipline integrated team, and unwavering safety awareness and commitment\nSound communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization\nDemonstrate knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management Systems policies and procedures\nDemonstrate methodical, diligent application of sound engineering principles\nPreferred:\nRegistration as RPEQ or demonstrated progress toward achieving chartered engineer status & RPEQ\nSAP experience (or similar computer-based maintenance system)\nExperience with diagnosis of machinery problems\nExperience with Plant shutdown/turnaround activities\nUnderstanding of Operations and Maintenance Business Processes\nExperience with manipulation of equipment operating data to derive actionable insights\nWhat We Offer\nAn inclusive environment of belonging where we respect one another and where our success reflects the diverse backgrounds, experiences, ideas and perspectives of our employees.\nA unique culture of SPIRIT - Safety, People, Integrity, Responsibility, Innovation, Teamwork\nA learning organisation that encourages, supports, and celebrates innovative ideas\nContinuous technical and professional development training\nCompetitive remuneration, superannuation, benefits and performance-based incentives\nPrivate health insurance and generous Employee Share Plan\nAbove industry paid parental leave\nSupport for all applicants\nConocoPhillips Australia encourages and welcomes applications from all members of the community.
