This role is ideal for a senior professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and understands the operational demands of CM and QA/QC work within a growing, integrated organization. Based in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.\nThe Operations Manager oversees companywide operations including contract management, field staff leadership, accounting oversight, HR coordination, and client relations. This position works closely with Consertus Senior leadership to ensure smooth delivery of services and efficient staffing.\nKey Responsibilities:\nContract Management & Client Coordination\nServe as Task Order Manager for Caltrans, local agency, and city contracts\nEnsure compliance with contract requirements and deliverables with reporting from project managers\nCoordinate staffing plans, contract modifications, and negotiations\nSupport integration efforts and alignment with Consertus standards and processes\nField Operations Leadership\nProvide support to Construction Managers, Resident Engineers, Inspectors, and QA/QC staff\nOversee staffing assignments, mobilization, and workload balancing\nAssist field teams with issue resolution\nEnsure adherence to Caltrans standards, local agency specifications, and project procedures\nPromote consistent operational practices across teams\nInternal Operations, Accounting & HR\nWork with accounting staff responsible for invoicing, cost tracking, and project financials\nSupport HR functions, including performance reviews and workforce planning\nImplement operational systems, process improvements, and compliance protocols\nQuality, Safety & Performance\nUphold companywide QA/QC standards and safety practices\nMonitor project performance, staffing efficiency, and operational KPIs\nQualifications/Requirements:\n10+ years of experience in construction management, engineering, or public-sector infrastructure delivery\nDirect experience working with Caltrans, local agencies, or municipal public works departments\nStrong understanding of CM roles: REs, CMs, inspectors, material testers, and source inspectors\nDemonstrated leadership managing multidisciplinary teams\nExcellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills\nExperience working within an integrated or multi-entity organization is a plus\nApplicant with Professional Engineering License is strongly preferred\nAdditional Requirements/Compensation Range\nMust be able to pass a background check and, where applicable, a drug screening in accordance with client and project requirements\nSalary Range: $190,000.00 - $230,000.00 depending on experience\nWhat’s In It For You:\nComprehensive core benefits (medical, dental, vision)\nEmployer-paid life and disability coverage\nA wide range of voluntary benefits, including pet insurance, pre-paid legal, hospitalization, critical illness, and accident insurance\n401(k) with day-one eligibility, including a 100% company match on the first 3% of eligible compensation and a 50% match on contributions between 3% and 5%\nGenerous time off, including 10 paid holidays, and a PTO plan that starts at 15 days annually, growing up to 25 days with tenure\nAccess to Consertus Academy for continuous learning and development\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement:\nConsertus is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
