Together, we're transforming the way the world is planned, built, and delivered.\nLearn more about how Consertus is creating lasting value for clients, communities, and our people at www.consertus.com.\nAbout this role:\nTo advice and assist the Resident Engineer (R.E.) in supervising on site construction activities to ensure quality assurance and quality control from start to completion of the construction project\nKey Responsibilities:\nOPERATIONAL\nConduct supervision responsibilities in adherence to guidelines as indicated in the Laceco Supervision Manual; ensure that supervision guidelines are being adhered to by site Civil Engineers at all times\nMake recommendations to the Resident Engineer regarding the selection and approval of sub-contractors in coordination with and through consultations with owner/client representatives\nNotify the Resident Engineer of any discrepancies identified against contract documents in order for corrective action to be taken\nAssist in resolving any issues raised by contractors (e.g. requirements for time extensions, change order requests, variations etc.); make recommendations to the Resident Engineer as appropriate\nReview related items within the Contractor’s Construction Schedule (CCS) (e.g. shop drawing submittal log, procurement schedule, and material submittal log etc.) prior to its approval by the Resident Engineer\nMonitor contractor activities and ensure contractors have submitted work according to schedule\nInspect related procured construction materials delivered to the site, to ensure compliance against ministerial requirements and specifications/contract documents/approvals\nEnsure that all materials delivered on site are being adequately stored and protected as per manufacturer’s recommendations in order to avoid damage of materials\nPrepare weekly and monthly construction progress reports\nEnsure the maintaining of onsite quality control (e.g. through thorough testing of materials and verifying of materials, adequate storage of materials, contractor’s submittal of written undertakings, warranty and protection of installed systems etc.)\nContribute to managing the health and safety of all on-site personnel; report any observed safety violations to the Resident Engineer and/or Safety Inspector (if available)\nAttend meetings (e.g. progress meetings, coordination and specially called meetings with clients etc.) as and when required.\nEnsure that the contractors submittals to local ministries are carried out in a timely manner as specified in contract documents\nApprove the As-built drawings submitted by the contractor and all related information after construction completion\nReview and recommend any changes deemed necessary of drawings \nRemain abreast on changes in local ministerial requirements regarding structural systems\nInspect the completed work, arrange for rectification, evaluate at commissioning, performance certification and warranty assessment\nPEOPLE MANAGEMENT\nEnsure all project support staff have assigned tasks and understand their project role\nProvide technical guidance and on-the-job training to employees\nEnsure health and safety of architects/engineers working on site\nQualifications/Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering\n10 to 12 years with 4+ years of experience in a similar role\nCertification/Membership of Society of Engineers\nPrevious experience working with a consultancy or contracting company\nStrong knowledge of construction methods, architectural finishes, materials, and applicable building standards\nProficiency in reviewing drawings, specifications, material submittals, and technical documents\nExcellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills\nProficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Revit is an advantage\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement:\nConsertus is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
