What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a Water/Wastewater Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of municipal water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure projects for public sector clients. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will apply your technical expertise to develop innovative and practical solutions that support the reliable treatment, conveyance, storage, and distribution of water resources. This role offers the opportunity to manage project tasks, mentor junior staff, coordinate with clients and stakeholders, and contribute to the successful execution of projects that improve community infrastructure and environmental sustainability. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with a strong foundation in water and wastewater systems design, a commitment to quality, and a desire to grow into increasing project leadership responsibilities.

This position supports projects involving water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, pump stations, lift stations, treatment facilities, storage tanks, and related infrastructure. The successful candidate will be involved in all phases of project development, from concept planning and engineering analysis through final design, permitting, bidding, and construction support.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare and review design plans, calculations, and technical documentation for pipelines, pump stations, and treatment systems.
  • Apply engineering standards and design codes to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to QA/QC processes to ensure design integrity and consistency across deliverables.
  • Coordinate design efforts across internal teams, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies. Serve as a task lead or assistant project manager for larger project teams. Project management opportunities for contracts up to $500k+.
  • Support project teams with technical input, cost estimating, and implementation of quality control reviews throughout project development.
  • Lead and/or assist in the pursuit of new project opportunities and contract $100k - $500k+ of new work annually.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 6 to 12 years of water and wastewater engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD & Civil 3D software is a plus but not required.
  • This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. May occasionally be exposed to noise.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the physical demands of the employee may include constant sitting, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and occasional standing, moving, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, and coordination. This job will rarely require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over to 35 lbs

Projected Compensation: $120k - $150k+ based on applicable experience.
