We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Power House Operator to join our team at Constance Halaveli, Maldives. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of our power generation facilities, ensuring reliable and efficient energy supply to our resort. As a key member of our operations team, you will work in a dynamic island environment where reliability and technical expertise are paramount.

  • Operate and monitor power generation equipment, including diesel generators and electrical distribution systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on all power house equipment in accordance with established schedules and manufacturer specifications
  • Monitor fuel levels, water quality, and other critical parameters, maintaining accurate records and logs of all operations
  • Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and electrical faults, diagnosing issues and implementing corrective measures or escalating to senior technicians as required
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including filter changes, fluid top-ups, and equipment cleaning to ensure longevity and reliability
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all maintenance activities, fuel consumption, and operational data
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental protocols, particularly regarding electrical safety and hazardous materials handling
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute major servicing and repairs
  • Conduct shift handovers, communicating any operational issues or concerns to incoming operators
  • Support the training and induction of new operational staff as required
  • Proven experience operating and maintaining power generation systems, preferably in a resort, hospitality, or facility management environment
  • Sound knowledge of electrical systems, diesel generators, and power distribution equipment
  • Competency in reading technical manuals, electrical schematics, and equipment documentation
  • Strong understanding of health and safety protocols, particularly electrical safety standards and procedures
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to maintain detailed records and documentation
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues systematically
  • Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work shift patterns, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
  • Reliable, conscientious approach to work with a strong commitment to safety
  • Desirable: Relevant technical certifications in electrical systems or power generation
  • Desirable: Experience working in remote locations or island-based operations
  • Desirable: Knowledge of renewable energy systems or hybrid power solutions
  • Desirable: Supervisory or mentoring experience within an operational setting
