We offer fully remote work arrangements from anywhere within the contiguous United States, with a preference for candidates located in the Pacific Time Zone.\nThe ideal candidate will have experience handling data privacy and cybersecurity matters, particularly incident response. Working closely with experienced Partners and other members of our Cybersecurity & Data Privacy team, this Associate will help guide clients through complex cybersecurity incidents, including network intrusions, business email compromises, ransomware attacks, and data breaches.\nGiven the time-sensitive nature of incident response, successful candidates must demonstrate composure under pressure, exceptional responsiveness, proactive communication, and a commitment to providing outstanding client service.\nKey Responsibilities\nWork closely with Partners and other team members to advise clients responding to cybersecurity incidents, including network intrusions, ransomware attacks, business email compromises, and data breaches.\nAssist clients in navigating incident response processes, including coordinating with forensic investigators, insurance carriers, and other relevant stakeholders.\nAnalyze applicable federal and state data breach notification requirements and assist in developing appropriate response strategies.\nDraft and review legal correspondence, incident response documentation, breach notifications, and other client-facing materials.\nProvide timely, practical, and responsive legal guidance to clients throughout the incident response process.\nManage multiple active matters simultaneously while meeting critical deadlines and maintaining exceptional client service.\nCollaborate with attorneys and other professionals across the firm's national Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice.\nQualifications\n1-3 years of experience handling data privacy, cybersecurity, or related legal matters, with incident response experience strongly preferred.\nJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active admission to practice law in at least one U.S. state or jurisdiction.\nExcellent academic credentials and strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.\nDemonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and communicate proactively during time-sensitive situations.\nExceptional responsiveness, attention to detail, and commitment to outstanding client service.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to effectively manage billable hours, competing priorities, and multiple matters simultaneously.\nSelf-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.\nCandidates located in the Pacific Time Zone are preferred, although qualified applicants throughout the contiguous United States will be considered.\nCIPP/US, CIPP/E, and/or CISSP certifications are preferred but not required.\nCompensation\nThis position offers a competitive annualized base salary range of $120,000 - $148,000 nationwide.
