As a fast-scaling company with offices in Brussels, Freiburg, Munich, Washington and Toulouse, our multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and strategists is building the future of space-based Earth observation

Your Role

The Government & Strategic Partnerships lead will ownconstellr’s senior-level engagement with government, public authorities, defence organisations, space institutions and industrial partners across the Nordic region.

This is an important, externally focused role requiring credibility, autonomy and an established regional network. The successful candidate will represent constellr with senior stakeholders, develop trusted long-term relationships and support the identification, shaping and capture of strategic government and industrial opportunities.

Working closely with constellr’s executive, government, commercial, product and technical teams, the Government Partnerships - Nordics lead will ensure that regional sovereign requirements, policy developments and partnership opportunities are effectively translated into long-term strategic capability programmes for the region. The role should be based in the Nordic region, with regular travel across the region and to constellr’s European offices.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead constellr’s government and strategic partnership engagement across the Nordic region.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with ministries, defence organisations, government agencies, national space institutions and other relevant public-sector stakeholders.
  • Strengthen relationships with regional industrial partners, system integrators, primes and national champions.
  • Identify, qualify and shape strategic programmes, procurements, partnerships and collaborative opportunities from an early stage.
  • Support capture activities by contributing regional insight, stakeholder mapping, customer engagement and partner coordination.
  • Work with technical, product and commercial teams to translate customer requirements into credible mission concepts, proposals and partnership models.
  • Provide structured regional intelligence on policy, procurement, budgets, institutional developments and competitor activity.
  • Advise constellr’s leadership on regional positioning, engagement priorities and partnership strategy.
  • Represent constellr at relevant industry events, government forums, conferences and bilateral engagements.
  • Support the development of long-term partnerships that strengthen constellr’s role within Nordic, European and allied space and security ecosystems.
  • Ensure that all regional engagement is conducted in line with constellr’s legal, compliance, security and export control requirements.

About you

You are credible and confident within senior government and industry environments whilst being collegiate and effective in a fast-paced international organisation. You are politically astute, discreet and able to build long-term, trust-based institutional relationships whilst being commercially minded, proactive and disciplined in execution.

You are motivated by complex missions with strategic, societal and security relevance.

Required:

  • Significant experience in government, defence, intelligence, space, security or a closely related industry.
  • A strong and relevant network across the Nordic government, defence and industrial ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging senior stakeholders within ministries, armed forces, government agencies or public-sector organisations within strategic programmes

  • Team player, able to share and leverage knowledge to constellr's advantage whilst operating autonomously, with sound judgement and sensitivity.
  • A collaborative, structured, highly driven working style.
  • Fluency in English and at least one Nordic language (Norwegian, Swedish ideally)
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the Nordic region and internationally.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working across more than one Nordic country or internationally, ideally within a scaling technology, aerospace or defence organisation.
  • Previous senior experience within defence, intelligence, national security or sovereign space programmes.
  • Knowledge of Earth observation, satellite systems, ISR, geospatial intelligence or advanced sensing technologies.
  • Experience working with European, NATO or multinational government programmes.
  • Understanding of regional industrial participation, localisation and partnership requirements.
  • Experience in maritime, Arctic or critical infrastructure domains.

Why join constellr?

  • High-Impact National Security Mission:  Be part of an ambitious mission to launch the world’s first commercial thermal infrared constellation, delivering sovereign-grade "behavioural" intelligence from space to close critical blind spots for defence, intelligence, and maritime surveillance agencies.
  • Fast-Paced "New Space" Innovation:  Work at the leading edge of a rapidly evolving defence sector. By leveraging modern, agile New Space methodologies, you will help design, build, and deploy dual-use thermal payloads into operational orbit at a speed and scale that traditional aerospace models simply cannot match.
  • Broad Interdisciplinary Exposure:  Accelerate your professional growth by collaborating daily with a diverse, international cohort of astrophysicists, software developers, and defence-system engineers.
  • Inclusive & Scientific Culture:  Join a high-trust team deeply committed to diversity, inclusion, and scientific excellence, where academic curiosity is paired with high autonomy and a flat hierarchy.
  • Financial Upside & Well-being:  Benefit from a Virtual Share Option Plan (VSOP) for permanent employees, giving you a true stake in the company's growth, alongside highly flexible hybrid working models.
