Our satellite constellation delivers high-resolution land surface temperature data, giving governments, defence organisations, commercial operators and global institutions the intelligence they need to monitor change, assess risk and make better-informed decisions.\nFrom national security and critical infrastructure to agriculture and climate resilience, constellr turns temperature into actionable intelligence for a changing world.\nYour Role\nWe are looking for an experienced Space Program Manager to lead the execution of some of constellr’s most strategic government programmes. \nYou will own complex national and European programmes from contract award through successful delivery. Acting as the primary interface between customers, consortium partners and internal engineering teams, you will ensure that contractual commitments, technical developments and commercial objectives remain fully aligned. \nThis role requires someone who thrives in technically complex environments, understands how government customers operate, and can successfully balance schedule, budget, scope, risk and stakeholder expectations while enabling our engineering teams to succeed. \nKey responsibilities\nProgramme Leadership \nOwn the successful execution of one or more strategic government programmes throughout their complete lifecycle. \nDevelop and maintain integrated programme plans covering scope, schedule, cost, resources and risk. \nEstablish programme governance structures, decision gates and reporting mechanisms. \nEnsure contractual commitments are translated into executable delivery plans. \nCustomer & Stakeholder Management \nServe as the primary programme interface towards government customers, funding agencies and institutional partners. \nBuild trusted relationships with senior customer representatives. \nCoordinate international industrial consortia and subcontractors. \nManage customer expectations while protecting constellr’s commercial and technical interests. \nDelivery Management \nCoordinate cross-functional teams including satellite engineering, product, operations and business development. \nMonitor programme performance against cost, schedule, technical milestones and contractual deliverables. \nDrive issue resolution and proactively remove delivery obstacles. \nEnsure programme risks and opportunities are continuously identified, assessed and mitigated. \nGovernance & Reporting \nLead programme reviews, steering committees and milestone reviews. \nPrepare executive dashboards, decision papers and customer briefings. \nMaintain accurate programme documentation and reporting. \nSupport internal portfolio management and strategic planning. \nCommercial & Strategic Support \nSupport proposal preparation, customer negotiations and transition from bid to execution. \nContribute to programme strategy and long-term customer development. \nIdentify opportunities for programme growth and follow-on business. \nSupport continuous improvement of programme management processes and governance. \nJob description\nAbout you \n8+ years of programme or project management experience within the space, aerospace, defence or high-technology sector. \nProven experience delivering complex government-funded or institutional programmes. \nStrong understanding of ESA, DLR, EU, defence or other public procurement environments. \nExperience managing multidisciplinary engineering developments involving hardware and software. \nDemonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, risks and contractual obligations. \nExcellent stakeholder management skills with experience engaging senior government customers. \nStrong leadership and communication skills. \nExcellent organisational and decision-making capabilities. \nStrong negotiation skills in structured, high-stakes environments. \nConfidence engaging with senior institutional and governmental stakeholders. \nFluent German (mandatory) and excellent English communication skills. \nSpacecraft industry experience required; aerospace or automotive backgrounds may be considered. \nGerman nationality or strong professional integration within the German market is preferred. \nWhy join constellr?\nHigh-Impact National Security Mission: Be part of an ambitious mission to launch the world’s first commercial thermal infrared constellation, delivering sovereign-grade \"behavioural\" intelligence from space to close critical blind spots for defence, intelligence, and maritime surveillance agencies.\nFast-Paced \"New Space\" Innovation: Work at the leading edge of a rapidly evolving defence sector.
