The Kitchen Logistics Manager is responsible for that infrastructure.\nReporting to the Director of Food Services, this role oversees storage, packaging, and delivery coordination for HTM's kitchen operations. That includes receiving and inspecting shipments, overseeing food packaging and labeling, and supervising delivery drivers.\nThis position does not involve cooking. It involves making cooking possible at scale, every day, without disruption. When the inventory is right, the kitchen runs. When the kitchen runs, people get fed. The Kitchen Logistics Manager is accountable for making sure it works.\nResponsibilities\nPackaging & Labeling\nCoordinate the packaging of prepared food items for storage and distribution\n\nEnsure all packaging materials comply with safety and sanitation standards\n\nImplement labeling and dating systems to track freshness and expiration of all products\n\nDelivery & Fleet Coordination\nSupervise delivery drivers and provide clear instructions and schedules\n\nCollaborate with the Senior Director of Food Services on delivery route optimization and scheduling\n\nTrack vehicle maintenance and ensure compliance with safety regulations\n\nOperations & Communication\nMaintain an active presence on the kitchen floor to oversee logistics operations\n\nEnsure effective coordination between the logistics function and the culinary team\n\nProduce routine reports on inventory status, delivery schedules, and other key logistical measures\n\nCommunicate regularly with the Executive Chef and Senior Director of Food Services to provide updates and implement improvements\n\nPerform other duties as assigned\n\nRequirements\nMust pass pre-employment background check\n\nMust pass pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol screenings\n\nMust provide proof of legal authorization to work in the United States\n\nMust comply with all HTM policies including safety, confidentiality, conduct, and HIPAA standards\n\nValid California driver's license required\n\nMust provide proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage\n\nMust qualify for HTM's commercial insurance coverage\n\nReliable personal transportation required\n\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on a continuous basis\n\nAbility to lift up to 25 lbs.\n\nAbility to push, pull, grasp, and reach overhead regularly\n\nAbility to drive vehicles in and around Los Angeles County\n\nAbility to work in variable indoor and outdoor environmental conditions\n\nFull-Time | Non-Exempt classification\n\nQualifications\nMinimum two years of experience in a high-volume food service, warehouse, or logistics environment preferred\n\nExperience supervising staff or coordinating delivery operations preferred\n\nFamiliarity with FIFO inventory principles and stock rotation practices\n\nKnowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in inventory management and logistics\n\nExperience with packaging, labeling, and cold storage management preferred\n\nHigh school diploma or GED preferred\n\nCommitment to serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness\n\nSkills\nStrong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail across simultaneous logistical priorities\n\nAbility to design and maintain storage systems that are clean, systematic, and accessible\n\nAbility to supervise drivers and coordinate delivery schedules effectively\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and cross-team coordination\n\nAbility to identify operational problems and address them promptly and independently\n\nKnowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards in a kitchen environment\n\nAbility to collaborate effectively with culinary staff, drivers, and senior leadership\n\nAbility to work independently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment\n\nMandatory Requirements\nBackground Screening - Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of background checks as required per worksite.\n\nDrug and Alcohol Testing - Candidates must pass pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol screenings in accordance with company policy.\n\nMotor Vehicle Record (MVR) Check - For roles requiring driving, employment is contingent upon an acceptable driving record.\n\nLegal Eligibility to Work - Candidates must provide proof of legal authorization to work in the US.\n\nCompliance with Company Policies and HIPAA standards - All employees must comply with company policies, including safety, confidentiality, and conduct standards.\n\nMust have reliable transportation.\n\nMust have proof of vehicle insurance coverage.\n\nMust have a valid CA drivers license.\n\nMust be able to qualify for HTM’s commercial insurance coverage.\n\nAbility to travel 25% of working hours\n\nPhysical, Demands, Environmental Conditions, Equipment\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
