As an MSR Intern, you will provide superior member service and sales to enhance membership and exceed member expectations at our Washington, Douglas, and South Haven offices. You will assist members with basic financial questions and concerns and open new accounts and handle loans.\nOur ideal candidate has a great attitude, is genuine and passionate. You are purposeful and like to be the solution, but more importantly, you are a servant leader.\n\nWhat you will do:\nLearn about individual sales goals.\nAssist with credit union products and services.\nIdentify potential referral opportunities under supervision.\nMaintain a positive attitude, provide good service and follow up to members and co-workers with guidance.\nRespond to basic member communications and inquiries in a timely manner, with supervisor support when needed.\nLearn techniques for handling difficult member situations and resolving basic member concerns.\nShadow and assist with opening new accounts for members.\nObserve IRA account processes and transactions.\nLearn to demonstrate Online Banking and Bill Payer features to members.\nAssist with Debit cards, payroll direct deposit, and disbursement requests under supervision.\nSupport the loan application process by gathering documentation and learning about loan requirements.\nObserve the loan approval process and documentation procedures.\nLearn to use the Customer Relationship Management system for basic documentation and follow-up activities.\nDevelop basic knowledge of business services, accounts, and transactions.\nObserve the process of establishing business account relationships.\nDevelop decision-making skills by observing and participating in guided membership interactions.\nWhat you will bring to the table:\nCollege junior or equivalent\nProfessional Presence - a polished appearance and composed demeanor that builds member confidence.\nMember Focused Approach - Exceptional listening skills and genuine empathy to understand and address concerns.\nProblem-Solving Skills - Ability to solve problems in a timely manner and diffuse difficult member interactions.\nFinancial Knowledge - Comprehensive understanding of business services, accounts, and transactions.\nResults Orientation - Track record of goal achievement\nTechnical Proficiency - Knowledge of current technology, with the ability to easily navigate multiple software applications.\nWhat you will gain:\nHands-on experience through a meaningful summer project and present your work to organizational leadership at the conclusion of the internship\nNetworking opportunities with professionals and other interns\nJob shadowing experience outside of your department\nCollege credit eligibility\nHands-on industry training\nMentorship from experienced team members\nVolunteering Opportunities\nWhat you didn't know about the team:\nAt Consumers, you're joining a team that works closely together and counts on one another.
