Learn more at our website:www.containerport.com\nAbout This Role:\nContainerPort Group, a World Group company, is currently looking for a dedicated, driven person to join our family as a Fleet Manager for our new growing terminal in Charlotte, NC!\nThe Fleet Manager is the direct link between our drivers and customers and must build trusting relationships with our drivers and fully support them in day-to-day operations. In addition, the Fleet Manager will be responsible for keeping their fleet committed to shipments that safely maximize productivity and provide on-time service to the customers. Get in touch with us by applying here.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nProvide leadership and supervise our fleet of owner-operators (owner-operators are truck drivers who own their own truck and contract with ContainerPort Group to transport our customers’ freight)\nMonitor and ensure effective and efficient delivery performance, fleet profitability and compliance with regulations\nAssign equipment as needed\nMaximize efficiency and profitability of every delivery\nOversee fair and equitable distribution of loads amongst contractors\nPlan and execute order of deliveries to create efficient load drop-offs and pick-ups\nAbility to accept and decline loads and coordinate with the Customer Success team\nNegotiate rates with contractors outside of the ICOA\nDevelop lasting relationships with fleet of contractors to improve performance and encourage retention\nResolve customer/terminal/rail disputes involving contractors\nMonitor contractor’s compliance and use discretion to take appropriate action related to the following: DOT and compliance regulations, controlled substance suspicion, hours of service, vehicle compliance\nCoordinate required training for fleet of contractors\nEducation and Experience:\nHS diploma required.\nAlignment with ContainerPort Group’s purpose, brand promise and core values.\n2-5 years of intermodal/container transportation experience\nWorking knowledge of DOT regulations\nExperience working with fleet of contractors/owner operators\nExemplary customer service and interpersonal skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information to customers and owner-operators in a clear, focused, and concise manner.\nStrategic thinker who is comfortable in a fast-paced, always-on, deadline driven environment.\nAbility to effectively prioritize and accurately execute time sensitive tasks.\nComputerized dispatch skills (experience using TMS)\nStrong computer skills and experience
