They are actively contribute to the definition of the business development strategic plan and coordinate projects to increase sales opportunities, accelerate revenue generating initiatives in order to achieve sustainable and profitable growth in alignment with the overall vision and strategy of the organization.\n\nJob Summary\n\nEmployer: Continental Reinsurance\n\nJob Type: Full-time\n\nLocation: Gaborone, Botswana\n\nCategory: Business Development\n\nClosing Date: 2026-11-20\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nExecuting business development strategy in ways that directly support the achievement of CRe vision, mission and corporate objectives\n\nPreparing market leading business development plans\n\nCollating market intelligence and creating comprehensive market database\n\nSharing market information with Underwriting team\n\nCrafting effective market entry approaches\n\nDefining and executing portfolio management plans\n\nManaging book of business and servicing clients\n\nBuilding and maintaining relationships with clients\n\nFacilitating and maintaining communication between underwriters and customers.\n\nMeeting clients and understanding their business needs/aspirations.\n\nPropose the best individual product solutions for clients in close collaboration with Underwriters\n\nDriving uptake of products by customers\n\nPositioning CRe as a customer centric partner\n\nAnalysis of identified opportunities to ensure they are in keeping with our risk appetite\n\nCollaborating with Underwriters in interacting with customers\n\nReviewing renewal pipelines and following up\n\nCreates and updates comprehensive industry, competitor and customer models including, but not limited to, market share, growth projections and trends, and market forces.\n\nPerforms thorough, systematic analysis of key Industry trends; the general social economic and political environment; legal and regulatory issues; customers, current and potential competitors.\n\nProvides market and competitive insights through presentations and reports to the Executive Leadership Team and various internal management teams to allow effective strategic and tactical decision-making and implementation.\n\nSupplies the market and competitive intelligence component of strategic planning, and proactively makes recommendations to management concerning key intelligence items that require further consideration.\n\nMaintains up-to-date knowledge of data sources, evaluating their credibility and potential utility, and leverages them across the company where appropriate.\n\nMaintains an in-depth knowledge of designated markets and trends through reading reports, market research, data manipulation and financial modeling and analysis.\n\nEnsure compliance with corporate requirements on adherence to policies, procedures and instructions\n\nEnsure that all relevant periodic and ad-hoc reports for all managers in the Business Development function are prepared timely and accurately\n\nContribute to the preparation of the regions revenue and expense budget for business development.\n\nAssist in monitoring production, business development costs, collections and technical portfolio performance.\n\nAnalysis of performance of Competitors & peers\n\nSupport in the development of Training Materials and Presentations\n\nAssist in the publication of Articles in the Corporate Magazine & Newsletter.\n\nDevelop and deliver marketing materials for Continental Re.\n\nAnalyze and evaluate the business environment to adopt advances in technology\n\nRequirements\n\nA degree in any of the Science or Social Science Faculties, Associate member of an Insurance body, a Masters degree will be an advantage.\n\nHow to Apply\nPlease submit your CV and a cover letter, by 20th November 2026, detailing your qualifications and suitability for the role to .
