We are seeking a Controller to support and lead our accounting team.\nThe Controller is responsible for administering and performing the day-to- day responsibilities for the Company’s overall general accounting function and maintain accounting policy. This position will oversee, implement, and maintain accounting systems, oversee the monthly accounting operations for accruals, cash, inter-company transactions, accounting policy, and reconciliations.\nEssential Functions:\nManage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department and responsibility for all basic accounting procedures; month end closing; journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and supporting schedules for financial statements preparation.\nMaintain responsibility for the general ledger reconciliation policy and procedures.\nPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including, statement of comprehensive income, statement of changes in members’ equity, and statement of cash flows, and preparation of disclosures to the financial statements. \nTechnical U.S. GAAP analysis, including researching U.S. GAAP, and prepare technical accounting policy documents.\nResponsible for managing and auditing the work of the accounting staff and assisting in performance management.\nPrepare investor reporting, debt covenant reporting, and management reporting. \nReview accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and monitor the company’s cash flow.\nExternal financial statement audit liaison, preparing, responding, and analyzing financial statement audit requests.\nAdditional duties as assigned.\nThe ideal candidate will have the following:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting required.\nMinimum of 3 years management required.\nMinimum of 7 years progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar work environment.\nTechnical and comprehensive knowledge of all finance, financial planning, accounting, and tax areas of a business including an excellent understanding of GAAP.\nStrong leadership and proven supervisory skills.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, and advanced Excel).\nExcellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management.\nPrior credit card or financial services experience a plus.\nWhy Continental Finance?\nContinental Finance Company (the “CFC”) is one of America’s leading marketers and servicers of credit cards for consumers with less-than-perfect credit.
