Continental's tire division employs more than 56,000 people worldwide and has 19 production and 16 development sites.\nAre you ready to shape the future with us?\n The Sidewall Operator is responsible for operating extrusion and calendaring equipment that produces tire components including sidewalls, treads, shoulder pads, sheet gum, belt edge, innerliner, and squeegee materials for commercial tire manufacturing. This role leads a team of two to five processing team members and ensures all components are produced safely, efficiently, and according to quality specifications.\nHOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT\nOperate and oversee assigned extrusion/calendaring equipment to meet production, quality, and customer requirements.\nLead and direct a crew of 2 to 5 processing team members during daily operations.\nRead, interpret, and react to Machine Set-Up Specifications (MSS) and production requirements.\nPlan work activities to maximize equipment utilization while meeting production schedules.\nMonitor and respond quickly to equipment downtime, process upsets, and other abnormal conditions, notifying supervision as needed.\nVerify the availability of materials, supplies, and utilities required for production.\nAccurately document production activities through timekeeping and electronic production systems.\nUtilize online and offline quality systems to ensure products meet specifications and tolerance requirements.\nRead and interpret product specifications, procedures, and quality standards.\nUse hand tools, gauges, and measurement devices to monitor product quality.\nFollow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) to ensure consistent production and quality performance.\nFollow all company, plant, environmental, and safety policies.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through 5S principles.\nSafely operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV), including forklifts, when certified and authorized.\nEnsure proper care and safe operation of material handling equipment.\nApply problem-solving skills to address equipment and process issues.\nParticipate in business team meetings focused on safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.\nSupport improvements in OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and TEEP (Total Effective Equipment Performance).\nAssist in developing, updating, and implementing standard operating procedures.\nParticipate in shop-floor improvement workshops and continuous improvement initiatives using Continental Business System (CBS) methodologies.\nEnsure standards and CBS tools are consistently applied within the area of responsibility.\nServe as a champion for site-wide initiatives such as 5S, TPM, and other continuous improvement programs.\nSupport CBT coaching reviews and assist Level 1 teams in achieving performance targets and implementing employee-driven improvements.\nCommunicate effectively with team members, supervisors, support personnel, internal customers, and suppliers.\nRead, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions related to safety, quality, process specifications, and production requirements.\n WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE\nHS diploma /GED\nIf internal, qualified in your current position\nAble to lead and foster teamwork\nAble to read and understand specifications\nAble to follow written and oral instructions.\nAble to work with limited supervision\nKnowledge of Computers\nWilling to work 12 hour rotating shifts - days, nights, and weekends.\n THE PERKS\nImmediate Benefits \nPaid Time Off\nVolunteer Time Of\nTuition Assistance\nEmployee Discounts, including tire discounts\nCompetitive Bonus Programs\nEmployees 401k Match\nDiverse & Inclusive Work Environment\nEmployee Resource Groups\nEmployee Assistance Program\nFuture Growth Opportunities, including personal and professional\nAnd many more benefits that come with working for a global industry leader!\nTHE ENVIRONMENT\nSafety is our highest priority and safety procedures/ guidelines must be always adhered to.
