You'll work closely with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure brake and steering control systems meet performance, quality, and release requirements.\nThe ideal candidate has a strong background in automotive controls and validation, with hands-on experience troubleshooting complex hardware, software, and firmware issues. You are highly collaborative, technically driven, and comfortable working with suppliers and engineering teams to drive issues through resolution.\nAs a Firmware Validation Engineer - Brake & Steering, you'll:\nDevelop and maintain brake and steering subsystem technical specifications in collaboration with suppliers and internal engineering teams.\nPartner with suppliers to develop and adapt validation plans, execute regression testing, and ensure firmware changes meet program and release milestones.\nLead firmware defect resolution and impact assessments, working across architecture and systems engineering teams to troubleshoot complex issues.\nDevelop and support diagnostic scripts and tools used for system testing and validation.\nCollaborate with cross-functional experts across mechatronics, robotics, computer vision, and AI to support system integration and continuous improvement.\nRequirements\n BS or MS in engineering or a related field and 6+ years of experience within the automotive or similar industry \nTrack record debugging ambiguous, multi-faceted problems involving hardware, software, and firmware. \nExperience with automotive actuator controls & validation methods \nExperience with the implementation of various test methodologies and developing and operating HIL test assets \nKnowledge of automotive program development, release processes, and long-term schedule planning\nBonus Qualifications\n Experience at automotive OEM or Tier 1 brake and/or steering controls developer \nCANalyzer, dSPACE, Polarion, Jira, and Confluence
